astrid
Hi there, Question for my mom, who loves to do the Times crossword puzzle every day-- What brands of pencils write the darkest? She's tried good old Ticonderoga, Black Warrior and several other brands but whether it's some sort of coating on the newspaper or what, they all seem to write very lightly. It's tough for her to see what she's written. Any suggestions for a dark, yet erasable pencil? Is this something I'll have to get at an art supply store? Or would Staples have something that would work? Thanks in advance, astrid (and her mom!)
Amy in NH
I think you need to go to an art-supply store to get something in the "B" range. HB is a regular US #2.

Jan in SC
You can find drafting pencils that have darker lead.

Melissa in Australia
I think you need to go to an art-supply store to get something in the "B" range. I know that those bubble tests usually ask for answers to be done in a "2B"
