Janie Grace
What does it mean when people title their thread something like "this is off topic, but..."? I see it here and elsewhere. I mean, there are hundreds of topics being discussed here. How can one more be "off topic"? I don't get it. Not trying to be a smart aleck, really just don't understand -- I'm relatively new to forums, so it's probably a nuance I'm missing.
Ginevra
I don't notice that much in the General Forum. Nothing here is really off topic, so I agree with you on that.
Parrothead
It is something that clings from the old forums. Really it means nothing at all anymore.
Jean in Newcastle
It's off - topic if it doesn't mention kilts:D
Heather in WI
If you look at the header for the general forum it states that the general forum is: For general questions about classical education methods, teaching techniques, readiness, supplemental activities, field trips, assessments, frustrations, online resources, etc. or just for hanging out and chatting! We used to note something as OT or Off-topic if it didn't deal with homeschooling.
Farrar
It's off - topic if it doesn't mention kilts:D Oh, thank goodness! Someone mentioned kilts so this thread is now on topic!
angela in ohio
Yep, holdover from the days when we talked about classical homeschooling around here. :D
Rosie_0801
I thought it meant the person was embarrassed to be posting. Rosie
