How do you like your "ham"?

Recommended Posts

What about ham hocks? I really love ham hocks in beans. I love all kinds of beans, but especially with a good, smoked, meaty ham hock in there, too.

I also like cabbage cooked with a ham hock in it.

And, green beans cooked with a ham hock in it.

I don't eat much ham these days. I used to like ham and bean soup like Audrey suggested. The spiral cut hams...tasty. In fact, usually around Easter we would have a ham but now that there are two vegetarians in the family we don't eat ham.

Looks like I missed pages of ham or no ham, but we do love pineapple.:)

I've sort of been ignoring the other ham pages on other threads, something about not adding fuel to the fire...:glare:

Whenever people say pork, I think bacon. When one says ham, I think pork. So it goes. ;) When I was in college, it seemed that turning away from the morning bacon was a particular challenge for my friends who kept kosher.

For me, it would have been shellfish, which, for some reason, my college never served. LOL

What are we talking about again? ;)

Cute:) For some reason, I don't equate bacon with ham. . .

Eeeee . . .yuck! That was enough to make me never want to eat bacon again  I might have bacon-man nightmares now.

What are we talking about again? ;)

I can't be sure :confused1:

:spam: Hey, spam rhymes with ham, do they still make that stuff?

We used to buy the cans for the door keys

Many different recipes, but mine goes something like:

2 cans Coca Cola

1/2 c. brown sugar

bucketload of black pepper ;) (just because we like it heavy on the pepper)

Simmer slowly until it is reduced to a syrupy consistency. Then, use that to baste the ham as it bakes. I baste every 15 minutes. Yummy!

I'm going to try this on a Quorn roast!!!!
