Mosaicmind
I purchased MOH 1 to use with my boys ages: 12, 10, and 8. I was going to use it with dd/9th grade, but now after looking at it I am not so sure I like it for use with her. What are some other good options? I don't have a ton of money to spend so it needs to be cheap. I do have most of SL Alt. 7 so I could use it with her. What do you think? HollyDay
Just had this conversation with an IRL friend this week. She is thinking about adding Streams of Civilization to MOH vol 1 to "boost it up a bit".
Kates
We're doing Diana Waring's Ancient Civilizations and the Bible, with long-term projects, strong lit, and writing assignments or other presentations for each chapter. Ds is really enjoying it!

Karen M
I used Notgrass World History. The "text" book isn't very expensive, but the books you need are around 89. You could get them from the library
Julie in MN
We're using Notgrass according to the MFW schedule, which includes using the whole Bible as part of your history and other books (Unwrapping the Pharaohs, Iliad & Odyssey, etc.). Excellent program, IMHO. Julie
mamananci
I'm using Sonlight Alt 7 with my dd who is a 9th grader....
mom2paul
We used Notgrass American History with accompany lit and my own assigned writing assignments. Not everything he studied came directly from Notgrass, however. We used other resources/internet research. DS loved Notgrass and it was very easy for me to administer. Pam in MA
We used Spielvogel's Western Civ as a spine and added lots of outside reading, including Tindall and Rhoads, recommended in WTM. Also, some controversial topics from Loewen's Lies My Teacher Told Me and the Taking Sides series. We added map work and an occasional movie. This is pretty much what we're doing except for the Lies My Teacher Told Me which I think is a wonderful idea. I may just have to get that.
