Brilliant Posted July 8, 2010 Share Posted July 8, 2010 Is it scary? It was recommended to me by someone who said it was clever and campy. So I recommended it for a summer book club selection. Now one of my friends doesn't want to read it if it's scary. It hadn't occurred to me that something so goofy could be scary, but I do understand where she's coming from...I wouldn't want to read Stephen King, for example. Since I don't have a copy of the book yet (I hope to pick it up from the library tomorrow) I thought I would ask opinions here so I can get back to her. Scary: yea or nay? Several friends who were very interested in it & thought they would love it had the same reaction. Too bad. Such a clever idea; such horrible implementation. :glare: And, no, not scary. It had points that were well done, but more where he went out of character. That was especially annoying because these characters are so well known as to make them almost archetypes.
