HollyDay
My doc told me I had to give up chocolate  So, now I want to make blonde brownies. My mother used to have one that made a great, thick batter. I remember breaking a wooden spoon trying to mix it! But, neither of us can find it...... Emily in IL
http://www.recipesecrets.net/blog/recipes/copycat-applebees-walnut-blondie-with-maple-butter-sauce/ I've made these and they're yummy, also substituted with vanilla extracts and no maple and they are more like a blondie, so you can do them either way. Think maybe that's what I'll make tonight................

ereks mom
Brown Sugar Brownies 1 1/2 sticks softened butter 2 c brown sugar 2 eggs 2 c self-rising flour 2 tsp vanilla Mix all ingredients and pour into greased 9x13 pan. Batter will be stiff. Spread with a spatula. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. EK makes these to take to potlucks and family get-togethers. People ALWAYS ask for the recipe. They are delicious, but SO easy! Edited June 26, 2010 by ereks mom

MomsintheGarden
Here's another. These are very easy and delicious. I have made them a lot, and they always turn out well. South Carolina Chewies 1 stick butter, softened 1 lb light brown sugar (I use ½ dark brown and ½ white sugar) 3 eggs 1 1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose white flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup chopped pecans Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, flour and all ingredients...nuts last. Mix really well. Spread & bake in 13â€x9†buttered pan (glass preferred) at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Optional: Sprinkle with conf. sugar right away while still hot
celticmom
I remember that there used to be one on the back of bits of brickle that was delicious. Also, I cannot eat chocolate and there are several recipes for carob desserts in Nourishing Tradtions. There is one regular brownie recipe and another that does not contain any wheat either. woolybear
Follow your basic chocolate chip cookie recipe. Leave out the chocolate chips. Spread it in a baking pan. Voila. Blonde brownies.
