Jann in TX
Do not open a box of 1000 crickets until you have FIRST made sure they will not be able to crawl out of their new container... That is all....

That is all.... Oh no! To Japanese, crickets are a sign of good luck. That's a heck of a lot of good luck! :D

Word Nerd
 My words of wisdom: Don't get a box of 1000 crickets in the first place.
Jann in TX
All crickets are safely in their cricket-proof box--a plastic tub WITHOUT a lid in our guest bathroom---they can't crawl up the sides of this one! If we put a lid on the box then the cricket smell that builds up is unbearable! We have 2 baby bearded dragons and they eat 50+ crickets each day. It is cheaper to purchase them by 1000 online than 100 at the pet store. At least I did not open the SECOND box of 1000 that came today first--those crickets are not even 1/4 in long (they sent wrong size)--DD is going to store right now for an appropriate box for them (since we cannot put them in with the others. I think only 40 or so got out--I'm glad that no one else was home to see me PANIC as crickets started jumping everywhere---I was FRANTICALLY trying to search for the box lid--while constantly shaking the failed container to knock down the crickets scaling the sides! I know I've caught/squished quite a few today--but none have been sighted since DH got home a few hours ago! (thank goodness!!!--I have not told him yet!!!).
