sleepymommy
I've got a couple- Peter Cottontail and Sammy Jay. Any other recommendations?
Alana in Canada
You can get them for free. My daughter loved the Bird Books: (Gutenberg has it) and she loathed the animals. I'm not sure why.

Wendy Inman
The Burgess Bird Book.. but that's probably because we're really into birds here. We're about halfway through the Burgess Animal book which i downloaded for free and am reading from the Kindle :)
happyWImom
Mine love them all, but Danny Meadowmouse is probably the favorite.
DarlaS
The OP is talking about the animal stories books (Reddy Fox, Peter Cottontail, Chatterer the Red Squirrel etc.) not the Burgess Bird Book, Animal Book etc. These are the little paperback stories published by Dover. We have this 6 volume set, and I will add a few more each birthday & Christmas for the next couple of years. My littlest (and sometimes the older ones too) loves them! sbgrace
My kids haven't met one they didn't like. Jerry Muskrat is the favorite of one of my sons. I really wouldn't know which to pick for the other.
King Alfred Academy
My boys love all of them! :001_smile:
Strawberry Queen
My girls really like them. My older dd chooses those books for dictation and copywork selections. I think they'd like to have them all, but we already have 9 or so.
Nestof3
Nathan would say: Reddy Fox, Jimmy Skunk, and Bobby Coon. I bought all I could from www.rainbowresource.com.
sleepymommy
Thanks all! I'm not big on reading off the computer or printing out books so I was just going to buy some from Dover. There were so many to choose from though! The two I have, I bought from a library sale. There are stickers on them that say Walmart 2 for $1! Unfortunately though I've never seen them there. DarlaS
Thanks all! I'm not big on reading off the computer or printing out books so I was just going to buy some from Dover. There were so many to choose from though! The two I have, I bought from a library sale. There are stickers on them that say Walmart 2 for $1! Unfortunately though I've never seen them there. On amazon many (if not all) of them are $1.50 or $2. They are also 4 for 3 (Every one I've looked at was anyway. I didn't look at every one). I searched on Dover Children's Thrift Classics and there's a bunch (among other books as well).
