TXMomof4
She is apparently going to run for Gov. as a Republican. She was being interviewed on a local radio show here and she sounds like someone I"d like to vote for. Just wondering if anyone else had heard of her? Sounds like a nice change from Kay Bailey OR Rick Perry.
Orthodox6
I just looked her up and scanned some articles. (Never, ever heard of her before this thread.) She evidently is a secessionist, so should garner about as many votes as shall Kinky Friedman, who is making another bid for the same job. teamturner
As a registered Republican and Texan, I am interested in checking her out. I can't stand K.Bailey-Hutchinson :ack2:. Rick Perry seems to be a weasel that will say whatever he thinks people want to hear, although I do like what he says about state's rights so I'm not sure how much I trust him. I actually voted for Kinky Friedman in the last gov election-not that I agreed with all his stances, but I liked a lot of them. I find myself leaning more and more to the Libertarian pov. Thanks for the info. I'll have to check her out.

I guess that leaves Kinky or this Debra person.
chiguirre
Here's a link to a very short youtube of Larry Kilgore (who's also running for governor!) and Debra Medina at the Secession Rally. It's just their most provocative comments and they're only on the 1st minute. There are other youtubes of their whole comments, too.

I guess that leaves Kinky or this Debra person. Just wanted to comment on the HPV vax... I too found the mandate detestable. But interestingly, I discovered that the policy was recommended to him by a team of health care advisors (who work in the field) because of their estimation of cost savings to the state by decreasing/eliminating HPV infections. Now I've done a TON of research on HPV and I think the team's conclusions were flat out *wrong*. But then again, I know a key team member and that person is strongly pro-vax for everyone/all circumstances. So I'm no longer irked by Perry, and I am told he was surprised by the backlash. Honestly I was too (since so many of those same parents have never questioned/have no prob. with all the other dozens of "mandatory" vaxes).
