mo2
I think the title is self explanatory. :tongue_smilie:
kalanamak
The only one I've heard of mentioned specifically is Blue. It is the only one I've read, also (Goodwill). Aren't they online? You could browse and see which one you like.
MamaT
I still have the Green Fairy Book I had as a child. I have wonderful memories of my sister reading it to me in bed at night. She is 12 years older than I am. We are still very close.
BlessedMom
Here is a site that has a "Fairy Tale of the Day" from Lang's books. You might get a feel for which books you like best. ChileMama
What a great link; thank you :) My kids and I love these. We have Blue and Olive ... we've read more of Blue but love them both. -- Susannah
Sparkle
I had the red one as a child and loved it. I found another copy and am reading it now to my dd. A few of the stories are a little weird though :D but overall we still like it.

"Fairy Tale of the Day" http://www.mythfolklore.net/andrewlang/ Cool link, thanks. I was hoping there would be an overwhelming preference for one of the books, but it doesn't seem that there is. I want to purchase these books but can't decide which one to start with.

stripe
The blue one (the first in the series) has many of the ones well known to many Europeans and Americans. For example, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Aladdin and the lamp, Goldilocks, Beauty and the Beast, Hansel and Gretel, Puss in Boots, and Rumplestiltskin. The red one (the second one) has the Golden Goose, Rapunzel, and Jack and the Beanstalk, but I think most of the rest are considerably less well known. If you have a particular story or culture, or if you're looking for more unusual stories (not the usual European ones), you might pick accordingly. You can find them online, so I'd look at a list of the stories in each. You might try checking them out of the library or reading them online to help decide.
