  1. I feel like that each week! You should see me heaving to breathe and the sweat pouring off. But I like moving forward. Sometimes I just don't want to repeat a bad week, so I take a chance on the next :)
  2. I only got curious because of Greta said for what the rest of this week holds! Otherwise I do not look ahead! For the same reasons you cited :). But I'm okay with knowing current week. In fact I think I'm kind of glad I won't be shocked on Friday when it says jog 20 minutes and I was expecting only 5 or 8. I have time to mentally prepare!

I like larger albums with everything in one place. I do it by years, and include vacation as part of it. Sometimes it means a first half of the year book and a second half for years where we have big vacations. I usually max out the shutterfly 110 page photo book. I'm years behind, but love that I switched to photo books a few years back, the captions make all the difference in the world to us. I include dates, names of places and people, and sometimes just fun comments. My goal is to help my kids remember all the cool things we've done!
  4. Different opinions. The American History Museum is hands down my kids favorite. And has been since they were preschoolers. Their other musts every time we go back (we lived there 9 years and get back every summer) besides Smericsn History are the National Archives and the Building Museum. Bring your own food in a background and water bottles you can refill at fountains. Food is really pricey. Metro is best option. Maybe stay somewhere around Arlington. We love anywhere with a free breakfast; it's worth a lot to us. Mount Vernon is very nice as others suggested.
  5. Ack! Just looked into the future when I read your post. Day 2 seems kind of manageable, but day 3- 20 min straight! No way I think I'm ready for that. That's a huge leap! I'm only getting through the 5 minute runs because I get 3 minutes off! This will be interesting.
  6. Finished w5d1. I liked this better than last week. The runs were longer, but so was the recovery time which worked better for me. I also liked having less runs, just three. Still, if I wasn't meeting my neighbor, I think I'd hit the snooze and roll over. I'm glad once I get out, but getting out is still tough.
  7. It's your house, your rules. I'd get the porta potty and say the house is off limits. Blame the septic. If someone gets offended, that's one less person next year, or maybe they can host the huge crowd instead. How many times will anyone need to go even in 4 hours?! I would think most people can hold it that long!
  8. Week 4 is done! I am psyched to have made it is far. Having a partner has been the hugest help for accountability. And Ds still joining in. Also we've been starting 30 minutes earlier so we get more shade, and it's at least 5 degrees cooler. Only 73 when we went this am, and now up to 81. Next week actually looks better. Only 3 runs instead of 4. We'll see. Happy July 4th!
  9. My dd is10.5 and no desire to grow up right now. She loves to run around and play. It does take a certain set of friends though. Her softball teammates are always on their iPhones and doing sleepovers. They seem readier to try and be older. And one came to a family party we had and wouldn't join the pool fun or some other games. I think part wanted to and part felt it was babyish. She was 11.5yo.
  10. First one to get my week 4 day 2 vote in :) Better today. I even made the full last 5 min run. Ds10 went with us. First time. I'm barely breathing at the end and look like I've been caught in a downpour. He's smiling and dry. He had to slow down and come back for us a couple times. Kids!
  11. Thanks. I know, but I am such a box checker, and tend to do things as they are written. So even though I know I could change it up for me, I'm likely not to unless I just really can't hack it. Until then, I will wheeze and groan for my 30 minutes. :). It does help that my neighbor seems to be able to keep going. So that keeps me going as well. Tomorrow my ds10 is starting with me. I don't think he'll have any problems! Though I wonder if I should look into better shoes for him. I usually outfit my kids from the Skechers outlet, and all their shoes are a little big. They wear their sneaks for everything.
  12. Yes, but that usually means a pair of khaki shorts and a nice (to me) top. My pjs are sweat shorts and a tshirt, so my daytime outfit is definitely nicer. We don't wear shoes in the house and I'm not a jewelry or perfume person. But I shower first thing, put on makeup (basically sunscreen, foundation and eyeliner), and get dressed. It's just part of my waking up process. I've always made sure the kids dressed each day too. Even when the three of them were babies. I tried being a relaxed pj mama a few times but it drove me nuts. I felt like my day never started. I envy that relaxed state of affairs!
  13. Layout is more important to me. We have a lot of wasted space in our current house. Our last house was over 1000 ft smaller, but the space was utilized well. I still love my old home.
  14. Today was rough. I had got out of the habit of looking at the clock during the jogs the couple weeks, but I looked today during that first five minute run. I was hoping to see 20 seconds or less. I saw a minute and a half :(. Breathing was hard today. During the final jog, I had to stop and walk about 45 secs to a minute before resuming. I just couldn't keep it up. Concerned if they just keep upping it this quick. The recovery times were just too short today for my taste!
  15. What does week 4 look like? I had a tough time on w3d3 with the 3 minute jogging part. Though on the plus side, it is now easy to run the 60 and 90 seconds that once seemed hard too.
  16. How long are you out for? I do the 30 minutes c25k and I am always right around 2 miles. Something less, sometimes more. Or are you that fast you cover twice the distance? What's everyone else doing mileage wise? Just curious if I'm a total slowpoke!
  17. Did day 3 this morning and my 10 yo ds joined me. I don't even think he was breathing hard! But today seemed better than the other day.
  18. The bottom of my foot started to hurt during yesterday's workout. Kind of between the arch/ ball area. A little concerned. I went out and bought new sneaks since my other ones were super old. Hope it doesn't get worse tomorrow. Any ideas appreciated!
  19. We've always used Standards ( not the US) and the textbook, after each lesson, has 2-4 pages with lots of Practice Problems ( at least 25 on the page). After each section, there is a cumulative review. Maybe 9 reviews, about 50 problems each, in each book I think. The Standards workbook also has reviews after each section. I'm not sure if they are still selling standards, but we've been happy with it and would recommend it. I have two that get math quickly, and one more slowly, but I still require practice and review for mastery from all of them. They don't like it (doing more problems when they think they don't need it), but I want them to know the math inside and out, and I think the more the better. It's easy to get a concept. It's harder to get all the problems right consistently. Carelessness is a sign they don't have it truly mastered IMO. We also do the intensive practice and challenging word problems each year in addition to the text and workbook. With all of that, there does seem to be plenty of review and chance to cement the material. Each year tends to build on itself as well. If stuff gets skipped though, then yes, I could see how problems would occur. We tried doing this part of one year after I listened to their complaints and cut back on their problems. Yeah, didn't work out so well. Math is a journey for us, a deliberate and steady journey instead of a race. We are going into Singapore 6 this year and have used it since Earlybird.
  20. Completed week 2 day 1. But here's dilemna. Neighbor is interested in joining me starting tomorrow. Do I start over at week 1 day 1 with her? Or do we see if she can do week 2 day 2? She is a walker currently, but not a runner. Thoughts?
  21. Our bowling alley doesn't ask for id, but I do think you can enter non family members. Think nanny situations etc. I just hand them my phone with the passes on there and they enter their pin to claim it. I bought shoes this year for all of us. Well worth it! We go almost every day now. Before, when it would run me $15 for us to rent shoes, I didn't take them bowling very often. You can sign up at more than one bowling alley. But I think you can just go to one a day.
  22. Okay, good. It's just sometimes I don't even think to followup on interests and wanted to check about this one. Thanks.
  23. I don't currently have of, but have had it several times in the last. I do wear flip flops outside. Indoors, I wear the big old crocs all the time. I do leg/calf/ankles stretches each morning before getting out of bed, and a little foot massage on the sole as well. Since I started that, i havemt had it back.
  24. I finished workout 2 yesterday but I could not post in the pol
