  1. way too much stuff. I need to declutter in a mayor way, but it takes time and energy. At present I am short on both. :001_smile:
  2. We have nothing like that in my area. But I am encouraged to see a wider range of choices in education. One size fits few. :)
  3. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :grouphug:
  4. I good friend of mine adopted her neice and it was and is fine. The young lady is growing to be a wonderful women. She adoption is open and the whole extended family is fine with it. So it can be done. :)
  5. WOW !! that is so wonderful.. Thanks for sharing your once in a lifetime experience..:)
  6. May I respectfully sugest that we spin-off the discution of the pros and cons of the new healthcare law to another thread. And leave this thread for help/ support/ suggests for this family in need. :)
  7. My mother had this kind of liver condition. She lived with it for 10+ years. It was not easy even with health insurance. :grouphug: My heart goes out to you and your family. Take things one day at a time and get some help. Use your connections, friends, family, work, church (if you have one). Reach out, their will be more then just you can do. Stay in the hospital as long as you can, you can refuse discharge if you feel he is not well enough to go home. Tell the hospital that you will refuse discharge until he has a sonogram at less. Then call all the liver doctors in your area and find one that will work with you. Ideas for later - Look into Medicaid with a spend down. The SW should be able to tell you more about it. Also you may need to look at disability for you husband. again my heart goes out to your and your family:grouphug::grouphug:
  8. Ahh. {does herbal tea count? like - the stuff that isn't actually "tea".. just curious!) I've seen lots of different hot chocolate varieties, if that's allowed? We've had candy cane, mint, orange, cookies & cream, and lots of others….. Hey, do you like hot apple cider? You can get mixes or you can make your own with apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and cloves… You could also get some of those little "cup of soup" things… [or put any soup in a cup, really] Ovaltine? I've never had it, but I'm pretty sure it's made warm... Herbal tea is fine, mint tea is a personal favorite. hot apple cider is also a favorite but when it's 95 degrees out it feels ...off.. I had not thought of Ovaltine.... I will have to try that. Thanks :001_smile:
  9. Is that because of the caffeine? I normally refuse to even acknowledge the existence of "decaf" coffee :p but it's out there, even in flavoured varieties. Sorry, but no, all coffee with or without caffeine are off limits. (Also the smell makes me sick.) So far I have been doing water, and hot coco, but it is getting old and My doctor wants me drinking more. Soooo.... I go looking for me things to drink.:001_smile:
  10. sorry to say, I have no idea what Roasted Barley Tea is. :001_huh: I will have to google it. Okay I googled it looks fine, thanks again. :)
  11. I forgot to add I am LDS so no coffee, and no tea. The Seltzer and lemonade sould good... thank you all
  12. I need ideas for drinks that I can have this summer served at room temp or warmer. I can't cold drink because of a med I am on. So great hive mind..... what say you. :001_smile:
  13. But I feel these are very important issues. I have a hard time with the glossing over of differences that I think we all can see do exist; or comparing those differences with the differences that exist between mainstream Christian denominations. Apples and oranges are different, but they're both fruit. Comparing either of those with say kale reveals a greater divide. (and I like kale!) There's a little bit of similarity, in that they all come from seeds and are plants, so they're quite different from roast beef or chicken. But there is a clear distinction to be found that separates the apples/oranges from the kale/other vegetables. I have never thought of myself as kale...... I always thought of myself as a tomato, a fruit that is often thought of as a vegetable. ;) Sorry, I just could not help myself. :D

I hope my disagreement with LDS is allowed, in the same way that their disagreement with traditional Christianity is allowed. I can understand your point of view. I have a deep faith in Jesus Christ. I believe He is my Savior and died for my sins. I have faith that through His atonement I can return to life with my Heavenly Father. I understand that you may not call me a christian. But I will continute to call myself a christian. And if you told me you believed in Christ I would call you a christian too. :001_smile:
  15. I also had an 18m who was not talking. Our ped. recomended EI and they did an evaluation and he is now getting speech 2x a week. From the recomendation to the first speech lesson took 2 months. I would recomend having the child evaluated. If there is no problem great, if there is a problem you have started the process of getting help. Good luck :grouphug:
  16. It is sad that the vaccine thread always get so dissagreeable. This is an issuse so many feel so strongly about on both sides. :001_huh:
  17. Just found the orginal Star Trek on netflix streaming. Watch the pilot, wow lot so fun. :D
  18. Congratulations. She is beautiful. I love the name. :):grouphug:
  19. Yes there is always work, but the pay, at least in NY, is not good. The work is hard, very hard work. In my area some employers will pay for the classes, you might look into that.
  20. I don't understand why it wouldn't be their right to stay in the seat they've paid for. Moving is a nice thing for someone to do, but surely not an obligation. Its not the other ppl's fault that the airline didn't seat families together, and therefore not their responsibility to accomodate anyone. Nice of them, absolutely, but I don't understand the idea that they *have* to move for someone else. No they don't HAVE to move. They have the right to stay in the seat they've paid for. People DO have the right to be unkind and inconsiderate of others. :glare: Personally, I think the airlines should be required to seat children under 12 with a parent.
  21. Flying with infants and toddlers is NOT fun. This thread has reminded me why we are planning to drive to florida from NY rather then fly with a toddler. My thanks to all who understand that parents can't alway keep babies and toddler either quiet or still. :) I am also very disapointed that some parents are unable to cut traveling parents even a little slack.
