  1. I recently saw that Schole Academy has a tutoring service. Not the cheapest option but it looks great for personalized attention and help on a particular thing. Writing is one option. https://www.scholeacademy.com/tutoring-center/
  2. Hi ladies, I'm starting to plan our next year and I'm trying to pick a read aloud while studying Abraham Lincoln. I have 2 already on hand. Which of these do you prefer? Abraham Lincoln: A New Birth of Freedom - by Janet and Geoff Benge (Heroes of History) Abe Lincoln: Log Cabin to White House - Sterling North (Landmark) I will be reading to girls in grade 3,5, and 8 Thanks!
  3. Following because I am thinking of using CLE 7 for my 8th grader next year. She’s done R&S and easy grammar historically. Eager to hear if everyone thinks level 7 is overkill.
  4. Have any of you had your kiddos taken the grammar of science course from Wilson Hill for 4th-6th graders? I’m debating that and possibly the Potters School. Thanks!
  5. Hi ladies, I am trying to implement a little art history to use next year in our morning time. Not art lessons/actual drawing and painting and such. We already do that. But a look at art over the course of time. I’ve been considering either God and the History of Art or VP’s History of Art cards and book. Any opinions on those or any others? We’ve used some of the SCM picture portfolios and like them. Just wanting something different now. Thanks!
  6. Hi ladies! I’m in Italy with my family (3 kiddos) and we will be in Florence soon. We are SO TIRED of pasta, pizza, ham sandwiches and super fine dining. I’d love a salad or a bowl of vegetable soup ? Is anyone familiar enough with Florence to suggest some places for us to go? Thanks!
  7. Heart of Dakota has a WG package that’s probably too advanced for at least two of your kiddos, but you could look over the booklist and get some ideas. I’m planning to use it for my daughters 9th grade year. https://www.heartofdakota.com/hearts-for-him-through-high-school.php
  8. All very helpful! Thanks to you both!
  9. This sounds a lot like my daughter who has been doing Saxon 87 this year. It just didn't seem to be completely solidifying in her brain. I knew it would be disastrous to move her on to algebra without prealgebra being super solid, so after much research, we are doing Saxon 87 again using the WTMA class that uses Saxon. I corresponded with the teacher and was very impressed by what the class will be like. I'm not sure if it's in your budget, but I would check it out. The teacher was very helpful in answering my questions. For my daughter, I don't think Saxon was the problem. It actually helped her so much. But she just isn't ready for algebra.
  10. I guess this means you like the Companion so far?
  11. For those who you that use BP and have used the Remember the Days text, do you find it interesting and engaging?
  12. One of my kids will be in 8th grade so I hesitate to use SOTW as her main spine. I definitely want to use it for my 5th grader. I have thought about MOH or History of US. But I assume they won't work well with the extras BP has. Maybe we stick to narrations :)
  13. Thanks for all of the replies so far.
  14. Hi ladies, I was wondering if any of you have used Biblioplan without their Companion text? I know this will prevent me from using some of their other products like the cool histories, but I would rather use the optional spines they list. Any thoughts? Thanks!
