  1. Gotcha. I’ve been so pleased with Schole that I’m inclined to do as much from them as I can when outsourcing is necessary. I didn’t realize they even had science until today. Good to know for the future!
  2. I’d love some reviews on the Art of Poetry by Christine Perrin that CAP publishes. I would likely get the DVD set also since poetry isn’t my strong suit. But overall thoughts on this program?
  3. Thanks so much for this review!
  4. Thanks for your thoughts. The grading service is so inexpensive, I guess it can’t hurt 😊
  5. Has anyone used Essentials in Writing level 10? Did you like it? Extra points if you happen to have used the grading service also 😊
  6. Have any of you used the distance education DVDs or online option for this literature course? I’m curious if it’s good.
  7. I would love to hear reviews of Heart of Dakota world geography! Thanks!
  8. Thanks! This is great info! But I’m not sure why I can’t a booklist other than the main resources. Will you link it?
  9. For anyone that has used Winter Promise Children Around the World, is it enough for a bright 6th grader?
  10. I can’t find the email or why this is in my head, but I think it said somewhere that the coupon would be emailed by February 23. Hoping I’m not misrembering that.
  11. Hi, I’m looking at using either the Mills or Guerber books next year for a 6th and 3rd grader. Which of these do you feel like is a better fit for kids who haven’t had a lot of this history? Also- do you know if there are any guides of any kind to go with the Guerber books? I see MP has guides for the Mills books. Any other opinions on the differences in these books would be great! Thanks!
  12. I’m looking for some recent opinions on Simply Charlotte Mason vs A Gentle Geast. This would be for students in grades 3 and 6. I’d love any thoughts people have comparing the two. Thanks!

  14. Thanks! This is helpful! The samples online of CHC look promising - it’s just hard to tell. Thanks for your opinion on it.
  15. Thanks! I’ll check that out!
  16. I am trying to figure out a science option for my rising 6th grade daughter for next year. She is wanting to use a textbook or something similar, though adding some books to it will likely happen. I don’t like Apologia. I am looking at Gravitas, Catholic Heritage....what other options are there? It doesn’t haven’t to necessarily be a Christian text, but that’s our worldview so I wouldn’t want anti-Christian. Any suggestions?
  17. The only class my 6th grader will take online next year is Latin for Children B through Schole Academy.
  18. Thanks for your thoughts! As far as lit - probably lit guides and a ton of books (not a guide with each one). She’s done Center for Lit online classes for two years, so we’ll probably use their method and do a lot of books on our own.
  19. Hi ladies, I am trying to decide on language arts for my rising 6th grader for next year. She will be using a program that calls for Rod and Staff Grammar, IEW writing, and Drawn Into the Heart of Reading. I’m really not interested in any of those. This child will be doing Latin for Children B online with Schole Academy. I’m thinking this may cover enough grammar to where using MP’s English Grammar Recitation may be enough. Thoughts on this? I’m thinking of just using Spelling Wisdom for spelling. For composition, I’m considering Kilgallon’s Paragraphs for Middle School. Though I haven’t heard much about this lately. Anyone have opinions on this? I may also add in Figuratively Speaking and maybe a few lit guides. Id love to hear any feedback anyone has on what I’ve listed - especially if you think any of those work well together, clash or overlap? Thanks!
  20. That all looks good to me. I’ll add that if you are thinking about LFC, my 5th grader is taking Latin through WHA and they use LFC. She has Kelly Songer for her teacher and she’s a huge favorite around here. She’s so much fun and my daughter is learning so much!
  21. Oh I see! I didn’t realize the child was already in the class. Well, this class is definitely the most challenging class my daughter has, but that said - she’s in 8th grade and not taking other high school level classes. But it takes more work than her WTMA math class and her local composition class. We don’t have any online classes for history or English so I can’t compare there.
