  1. I am interested in hearing if someone has used both LFC B and FFL1. I have used LFC A this year with zero Latin exposure. My ds/10 did great with it. He gets it and enjoys the humor in it. I also like the way FFL is presented. I have not used FFL. Judging from the samples, it looks like a solid program. The lessons in the dvd are straight forward.
  2. CC memory material is very good. The cds and cards can be purchased without the need to be part of CC group. Check out http://www.audiomemory.com/. We use Georaphy Songs by AMP. Song School Latin by Classic Accademic Prss was a hit with us. In the fall, We will be adding Linguistic Development Through Poetry Memorization, States & Capitals Songs next year. gsetio, thank you for posting grammar stage memorization by Hannah Wilson. I will adding this to our memory material. Also, Living Memory looks great too.
  3. We use US edition: Workbook Textbook IP CWP (old edition)
  4. Vision Forum has them too. http://www.visionforum.com/browse/productlist/?search=classical+composer
  5. I have not used CLE. However, I have used Rod & Staff 3 and WWE 3 with my 9 yo ds after pulling him from a private shcool that did not teach him much grammer. He has learned so much from both programs. We both like using both prgrams and do not dread pulling the books out. :001_smile: The pace for R&S 2 might be too slow. R&S 3 does a very good job reviewing year 2. (My ds did very well with R&S 3 even though he did not have adequate grammer exposure beforehand). Also, WWE 3 does a good job with narration and dictation. If your ds has difficulty with either, you can always go back to R&S 2 and WWE 2. By the way, you will also need material for spelling. I hope this helps. :001_smile:
  6. LLATL is Learning Language Arts Through Literature series. I have not used CLE LA (Christian Light Publication). :)
  7. Thank you all for your responses and advice. I agree that if R & D is working, then there is no need to change. It is good to know that VP Scholars has so much meat that keeping R & D will be a problem.
  8. This has been my first year of homeschooling. I have used FLL 1 with my dd 7yr and Rod and Staff 3 with my ds 9yr. For next year, I am planning to switch from TOG Year 1 to MARR Veritas Press Scholars using their lesson plans. I wish to streamline the daily lesson plans through VP Scholars and eliminate second guessing myself. I appreciate what most of what VP MARR offers, however, I am not familliar with Shurley. Here is my delimna: Should I stick with R&D or should I switch to Shurley Method? What does Shurley have that is not in R&D and vice versa? If I pick one over the other, do I need to supplement with other materials? Thanks
  9. I have a question relating to Shurley Grammer. I am comparing Shurley Grammer vs. Rod and Staff. Could anyone tell me why someone would pick Shurley Grammer over Rod and Staff? Could you tell me the differences between them and what you like or dislike about each. BTW, I am new and cannot figure out how to start a new thread , how do I do that, and I appologize in advance for inserting my question here. Thanks.
