What do you do when you get a really bad haircut? Anyone have a funny story to tell to make me feel better?
I have this friend that used to cut hair for a living. She doesn't work anymore, but she'll trim my hair for me every once in a while. She's very good at it, she was a 'hair artist' and an instructor at one time.
A couple weeks ago I needed a haircut so badly I couldn't stand it anymore. It had been almost a year since my hair had been cut and it was so thick and heavy. My friend had been feeling sick a lot lately so I hadn't asked her to cut it in a long time. The other day I went to the place where I used to get my hair cut before my friend started cutting it.
In a nutshell, at the salon they didn't blend in my bangs (which I cut at home and needed blending badly) left the front too heavy, and thinned the back too much. Instead of going down the shaft gradually thinning it, and doing it in random places, she thinned it at the scalp all in the same spot on the back of my head. After giving my hair a few days to settle down after the cut, I realized it still wasn't laying right in places and felt too thin in the back so I asked my friend to look at it. She had a cussing fit. She did the best she could to fix it, but she said I'm looking at about 5mos of letting it grow before it's going to be back where it needs to be to have a decent haircut.
