I swapped the read aloud for a fun movie. I do need to spend more time with the fun readers with my girls.
  6. When I got H1N1 and pneumonia last year they were giving it to me in the hospital. It caused some weird reactions but I was in a coma for most of them, only remember waking momentary for them dealing with my all over body rash.
  7. My family is not in the "large" department but the chronic pain I suffer is. So, I'm all ears. I want encouragement, and a helping hand.
  8. 3 Beautiful girls a wodstove, and a house to keep everyone in 20 acer land to play/grow food on bed time solar electricity coffee
  9. Waking up out of a medically induced coma is very traumatic. They did it with me in small increments. I was tied down for being violent, trying to escape, and trying to knock things over. I tried to bite people. :blushing: I felt really bad but they told my mom it was all another day for them, as it was normal, and a good sign I might make it. Being put under for a quick surgery was so different. I was up and dressing in less than an hour after surgery.
  10. I woke up for every surgery when I was in the ICU. They got to the point they knew it was coming, lol. When I got my tubes tied I warned them that I may wake up. I did, and scared the anesthesiologist who cut my lip on accident, trying to put in a breathing tube.
  11. I found all my three of my girls and the vertict is that all three of them have free earlobes like me. :bigear:
  12. Okay so curious right now going to check the kids earlobes and report back. My DH has attached and I do not.

Haha, sounds like my house, if you throw in a variety of half-gnawed apple slices. Hee.

  15. I lost my small short haired dog in during a -15 degree night. He came back home the next day. Scared the poo outta me. I live in the middle of nowhere and he could also be coyote chow. I think animals can be very resourceful so don't lose hope.
  16. We used Saxon at first. Made us both cry and I hated math to begin with and that made it worse!! Switching up programs to MM, and adding lacing math facts, and games in has made it fun. Also counting in the baking sessions we have, music, and farm projects. They will tinker with hands on math things by themselves and ask to play math focused games. The Dew is Meh most of the time. Its mainly having to sit still for worksheets, which I have really curbed down. They seem to be picking it up quickly. I am so happy to see more than memorization, they have a natural application.
  17. We went full force today! It was shoving a lazy elephant along with my 10 year old, and calming down an eager squirrel with my 5 year old and being constantly mauled by my baby. We did school on the floor today. So far we are doing good!! Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.
  18. Let the chaos begin!

  19. We are! Tomorrow is our day 1. I like to school from Jan-Dec, with breaks and just a relaxed mosey through the year. I have a 10 year old in third grade, yes we are behind, and a 5 year old heading into preschool, and a baby to keep me on my toes. I am excited to start again and find our new rhythm.
