Honest question: What role does G_d have if the only way to get to him is 14,000+ hours of teaching that does not exclude Him? Wouldn't G_d be powerful and all-knowing enough to be able to reach the kids anyway? Paul killed Christians and G_d still reached him. I don't think he went to a Christian school.

:glare: I'm glad you are making the choice you are comfortable with for your family. I hope you are supportive of the freedom each parent has to make similar (or different) choices. Not every X-tian believes as you do. And many other fabulous parents disagree altogether. I guess you are the exact demographic the "documentary" makers were shooting for. It's nice to have positive reinforcement, isn't it?

I read with expression, not extremely dramatically, but enough. A question sounds like a question and an exclamation sounds like one. I've also been known to use a slightly different voice if there seems to be a lot of dialogue (it can be easier to determine who is speaking). I also explain vocabulary when necessary.

Great job!!

:iagree: This is exactly what I would suggest. We left SWO and tried R&S. If a book is too easy, just grab the next one. It is very simple to use so we've been able to stick with it happily. There are also many samples (including the full word lists) on the website.

Step daughter crashing Mother's Day

:iagree: Can't you ask the renovation to be post-poned until you aren't 37 weeks pregnant? Family is family. She is your family and wants to visit her father and step-mother. I would overlook any potential ulterior motives. Her relationship with her mother isn't your business. Blended families are tricky enough. -
Great job to both of you! Very precious :)

So what is the incentive to provide good service to a larger group? It sounds like it would be better to divide your party into two smaller groups and sit near each other so at least you can pay for the service you get. This has happened to me when I was much younger. The manager chased us into the parking lot even though we explained how bad our service was the entire meal. We paid it, but never went back. The whole situation still makes me mad. **flame suit on**

Where can I buy sturdy women's shirts?
ezrabean2005 replied to ezrabean2005's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I don't have issues with staining, just holes and stretching from regular reaching, lifting, and moving around. I will wear an apron if I have to, but I was thinking I'd just invest in heavier shirts first. I don't want to wear an apron if I can avoid it. I spend my days at an office and then go to the cafes to restock, do dishes, fix machines, etc. Typically the shirts I have are good enough in appearance for my daytime work too (downtown). But they are so thin that it is easy for them to get worn quickly. Maybe I should just switch to a Carhart jumpsuit. :) -
The shirts I buy right now are knit / cotton (typical Walmart shirts) and they get really trashed very quickly with all the cafe work I do each day. I want to find some shirts that are heavier weight or are made of sturdier material. My shirts just don't last that long without getting holes in them / tearing. Any suggestions? I'd rather pay more for a shirt that is going to last than have to rebuy cheaper shirts over and over.

Any takers for a decluttering challenge?

I'm in as well. I mostly need to sell things and reorganize the closets (we have two large ones in our kids' room). Although the more I think about it, the more I find to do :) I find I need to do this about twice a year to keep everything as streamlined as I like it. -
That's so cute! :)

Our system has to be portable since we never know where we are going to do schoolwork each day (cafe 1, cafe 2, or at home). We use a large gallon ziplock for pencils, my date stamp, markers, a ruler, extra pencil lead and erasers, and a pad of post its. Large supplies go in our school bag separately, but these are not used everyday. When it wears out (usually after a couple months) and has scotch tape lining both side seams, we put it in a new ziplock bag. :)

Good luck with whatever happens. I hope it works out the way you want it to. Devil's Advocate (feel free to ignore as we are happy renters after years of owning homes :001_smile:): For the first few years of a mortgage you are only paying minimal dollars to principal. Not to mention the pressure that comes with that obligation. We like being able to control our housing expenses while still staying in desirable areas.
