  1. I have only used the physical books for Beast Academy, not the online. My understanding is that the books and the online version have different problems. However, if you are concerned that there's not enough practice for your child, that will probably still be the case with the physical books. In my experience, BA incorporates review by continuing to require the concepts in later problems. For some kids, that works really well, and for some kids, it doesn't. You've said you want more straightforward practice, but also that you don't think your kid needs repetition, so I'm not sure exactly where the "sweet spot" would be in your mind. But if you've used BA online and felt like it wasn't a good fit, you may well have the same concerns about the physical books. I have also used Math Mammoth for that level and like it as well. I can't compare with the other programs you mention because I haven't used them. But MM did a good job with helping my kids start to develop number sense. I don't think the problems are as engaging/challenging as the ones in BA, but it's solid conceptual instruction and plenty of practice. If you do use it, note that it's designed so that not every single problem needs to be done. One of my kids found the page layouts visually overwhelming, even though I wasn't having her complete all the problems, and I think this is not an uncommon issue. It didn't bother my other two as much, though.

  3. We are going through the end of this week and then taking 2.5 weeks off. In a couple of subject areas, the kids are reaching natural stopping points tomorrow, so we'll just not start the next thing on those until January.
  4. Me, except presents that are for me. DH and I are giving each other new chairs for the school room this year, and they won't be here until late January (or later), so there's nothing for him to wrap this time.
  5. I did 2 miles and some core exercises. Weather is back to pleasant today. 😊

  7. 2.6 miles walked in muggy weather and a bit of rain (I had my umbrella with me). Arm work done too.

  10. Bad days happen sometimes. I'm sorry it has you feeling discouraged. I'm proud of you for getting that 2.2K in.
  11. I have had things coming right on time, a day later than expected, and five-days-late-and-counting. I think it is really dependent on what places the packages have to pass through and if those locations have been hit hard.

  16. I did a 2.1-mile walk and a bit of arm work this morning. 😊

  18. I had my girls read the Declaration of Independence today, and I was helping them parse the sentences so they could figure out what was being said. DD#1: "Hey, why do the sentences have dependent clauses if it's the Declaration of INDEPENDENCE?"
  19. I did 3 miles and arm work. Pushed myself a bit more on the arm work, which I haven't been doing lately, so I will probably be feeling it later, lol.
  20. Oh no - sorry you hurt yourself! I hope it's better tomorrow.

  22. It helps me as well! I appreciate all of you who participate!
  23. I did 1 mile this morning and core exercises. It's DD#2's birthday and I had to get to the store to pick up balloons and then I had to make waffles as requested for breakfast, so I didn't have time for a longer walk, but I may be able to do one later in the day. 😊
