I have read that Omnibus uses the progymnasmata, but this is something we have not done before. I use IEW and planned to stick with that, so my question is can we use Omnibus without the progymnasmata?

It definitely has it's good points and it's bad. My oldest Dd wondered what they would do with older kids who were behind or younger ones who were advanced. Would they have 8 year olds with 15 year olds? Be interesting to see how this works out once it's actually in place.

I am aiming for May 31st, but we will probably have to go a few weeks into June with TOG.

I use a simple excel sheet to keep records and then add the grades to their transcripts at the end of the year.

Anyone have experience with this book? My son needs help knowing when to use punctuation and honestly, so do I lol. Yay or nay on this book?

Definitely would have worked more on writing skills. We just started with IEW this year and I wish I had started it sooner.

For those ages I'd do something like Apologia elementary science, SOTW and activity guide, maybe LFC, read aloud Bible stories or something you can do together and then I would do math, copy work(WWE), grammar and spelling at grade level. Once your oldest is ready to go through the history cycle again I'd try TOG.

My DS goes to the Dr Tuesday to meet about ADHD meds which the psych who elavuated him is recommending. I am wondering what the best meds for ADHD are. My DS also has seizures and is on lamictal, if that matters. I want to be prepared and armed with info. Thanks.

Has anyone used TOG and mostly used ILL for the assorted books? I was thinking of purchasing the multi-unit, multi-year type books and any book used for longer than just a few weeks and ILL the rest. My library takes on average just a few days to get requested books to me and I can keep them for 3 weeks. If I requested a few weeks worth each Monday I should be able to stay on schedule. I am thinking that even at $1 a book I'd still save a ton of $ verses buying the books. So what do you think? Nuts or not LOL
