  1. Through a thin white shirt, yes, I think they are. If you can see the color of them, I think they are. But in Jennifer's case they were probably just showing the shape. And I could be mistaken or it could vary from tv producer to tv producer or network or something like that. I guess I lump "breasts" into the category of genitals. You will get varied answers on this if you google it. Technically I guess they aren't, but how people use the term is varied. this one was one of the first google results I got. Yes, I think there is a lot of unfair pressure for women and breasts and I'm a supporter of women breastfeeding without a cover. It mean I would want them to be somewhat discreet (like try to make a transition without flashing everyone) but also people shouldn't leer. I think it's a combination of things listed in this thread... society (at least in America), upbringing (at least in conservative homes), and the dislike of drawing unwanted attention.
  2. I think it’s blurred sometimes like if a shirt is wet as well. And I think if a shirt is very see through. But I can’t draw up an example right now.
  3. @Harriet Vane do you teach online or in person? Like is this a local job or another country (ESL)? Today I did 37 min on the stationary bike, a HIIT video and 9 min of Walking with Leslie Sansone before the YouTube video glitched and I was ready to call it quits, anyway. In addition to not being able to do a full push up yet, I can’t do this other thing so that’s annoying during one HIIT video. They lower themselves in a push up stance and hold their body an inch or so above the mat. When they do that, I just do a few modified push ups. Considering I got my period today I’m proud of myself for doing something. I have to go by the office one day this week (we haven’t set a day yet) so if it works out I may get to do evening pickleball.
  4. Thank you for your perspective. I was raised in a very modest house (though I didn’t always dress modestly away from my parents). A lot of that has carried over plus I live in the Bible Belt. To me if it’s something that might be blurred/censored on TV, then I probably am showing too much. N!pples fall in that category for me. I always thought rash guards were meant to be worn over a swim top anyway but I’m not part of a swimming culture. To me wearing just a rash guard seems like you didn’t finish dressing and have no mirrors in your house. I remember as a teen shopping for bathing suits I wanted the cup inserts for modesty and a little “help” but then I was self conscious of this false advertising like I had big (at least to me) b00ks.
  5. I think that would make me uncomfortable as the sibling and therefore as the parent. But maybe I’m picturing more revealing clothes. Like skimpy sorta thin p@nties vs thicker boy shorts. maybe her n!pples aren’t showing. I think of boxer briefs as more revealing than I’d like for hanging out in the house and I get onto ds about his boxers because he doesn’t sit conservatively sometimes and I’ve been flashed. I straight up told him but this doesn’t embarrass him??
  6. I don’t even want to see other women’s n!pples. It’s just TMI kinda. I remember in a homeschool group I kept my mouth shut but I did not like that a busty mom, whom I considered a friend at the time, came to a couple beach attire events without a bra or padded cups or anything under her rash guard. Her n!pples were visible. I personally wear a padded sports bra under my rash guard but others might wear a bathing suit top. Just something seemed warranted. However, as this was not the highly conservative Christian group, we had nothing in writing for attire. And the other group I think went too far extreme in the opposite direction lol I also don’t want to see a c@mel toe or have that visual showcased for all the kids. I’m not even sure this is a male vs female thing. It’s just distracting in a way that seems off putting to not just me but probably others.
  7. The cup to underb00k strap never seem to be the right ratio. I have strap extenders on a couple of my bras because going up in size would just give me huge cups I can't fill. I wear sports bras when I go outside to exercise, but I can only tolerate them for a few hours before they are making my whole back feel tight and tense and I want to rip it off.
  8. This may not interest anyone here but just in case... some ladies in my Metabolic Renewal facebook group have been posting pics from an app called Me Three Sixty. I guess you take a pic wearing form fitting clothes one day, then after some time has passed, take a new one. The app will compare the two and guess statistics about your body. You can see a sample on the website. https://www.methreesixty.com
  9. I'm also self-conscious about going braless when my ds is home. Let's just say as a young girl I didn't like my dad walking around in his underwear. I don't remember what age he stopped this and really I don't think it was ever like the whole day, just in passing. I think it's kind of a mutual thing for kids/parents if they prefer one to be covered up haha. But then again I don't know. I ask my son to wear more than just underwear but he doesn't listen. If my shirt is thick I don't worry so much, but otherwise I like to wear a bra because I just feel kinda naked.
  10. If possible I never bake cake/cupcakes the day of the event. Make them the night before, give them time to cool. Then frost when you have time. You can even make the frosting the day before. I would also urge my spouse, if possible, to do some of the yard work the day before the event. Maybe he had to work Friday, but someone could go pick up branches or something on Friday. Agree, send him to get a haircut because that's too last minute. Can he also go tie the thing to the mailbox? Or pick up an item at the store??
  11. I don't think I wear the right size bra. I have tried many many times, but it's just so complicated. Like I might think I've finally found the right size, but then the cups are placed too close together and I feel like I have side boob that's not supported and then I just feel fat. I've literally gone to bra fittings in dept stores and had them give different answers on size and had little to nothing to offer me. Though, these were both pre kids probably. One woman said my size was "Nearly A." I was like oh great, like finding an A cup in the adult section isn't hard enough... now I gotta hunt down "Nearly A"? It's got to be a joke right... "NA" LOL Since I work from home I usually don't wear a bra during the day.
  12. I don't even like to drive in backless sandals lol. But on a rare occasion I'll do that.
  13. Finger pricks are my nemesis. Guess I better cut myself shaving before my appointment.
  14. OH and last night I went down the street to buy more water and they only had distilled jugs and even with the individual bottles of water they didn't have the kind I normally buy (store brand). I prefer not to drink Dasani although they had some of that. So now I am low on water and will probably have to drive to another town just to get more drinking water. So annoying. I've been trying to get away from individual bottles as I think that's probably more plastic waste than the jugs. I got 3 jugs at the grocery store with the kids recently but that didn't last as long as I hoped. Yes, I need to invest in a filter. We had gotten one at the marital house (like this) and for the most part were happy with it... but then I'd still see black flakes in the pitcher. So I'm not sure filters here are the best drinking option, either. So I've just been spending money on bottled water. The tap water here is questionable and I've seen it come out discolored before. Since I've lived here they have turned off the water a few times to work on it, too. I have to always keep some water handy. That pitcher is really cheap, but the one we got was like $60. So I don't know, maybe they are more affordable than I thought??
  15. My workout stuff is gonna get sloppy during summer on the days the kids are here, I've just accepted it. Yesterday between work, playing a little with dd, and making meals, and my routine low energy, I just didn't do much. I did a short Get Fit with Rick video (I didn't stay in sync with him later in the video and just kept listing to the music and moving) I got approx 2000 steps. When I was done with that I thought about biking, but dd was still awake and will absolutely not settle down without me (and I cave in since we have limited time together. But I really need to work on getting her to bed without me). Today I plan to bike and do a HIIT video. The HIIT plan is supposed to be 3 days a week so they recommend M/W/F. But I didn't get to do it on Wednesday so now I'm a day off. I'll do one today and then resume on Monday and that will make it M/W/F again. Something I did the other day engaged my core which is good. I think I've neglected to do much with the core. There's also been another obstacle. I got notifications that my data usage is high this month. We went over on my phone data (probably from dd using my cell phone) and are almost at the max for the wifi. I tried to get the kids interested in non screen activities or DVDs vs streaming services. It was a losing battle for the most part. I paid for the $10 boost (2GB) to cover myself til the end of the billing cycle with my phone service and the wifi company said if I do exceed the 700GB this month it will charge me $10 for an extra 100GB. I've decided not to stress too much about it. But that was part of the reason I was hesitant to bike and watch tv. I do have a dvd I can watch while I bike (not as great but it's something).
  16. If someone feels an emotional connection or they are overcome with compassion etc. I don't think it sound so strange. I have sent a couple things to "strangers" but I knew they were legit people. An example (not one I personally did) would be like Operation Angel. I don't get the paying to send stars on social media. What even IS that? I think people pay with real money to make these animated stars appear on certain facebook lives?? No, I'm not sending .50 so a star appears on your page. But maybe it's a way to show support for someone you like a lot and they think so what, it's chump change.
  17. I am not where I wanted to be as far as fitness this week, but I guess some weeks will just be like that. I never got to exercise after bowling or even yesterday (my days are running together) and today I had a work meeting that ended at 6:45. I just barely motivated myself to do a HIIT video and then I did a 10 min. Get Fit with Rick which was 1600 steps. I want to do some of his longer videos another time for indoor steps. I just learned about some of these YouTube videos.
  18. If Psych isn’t on those channels I know I’ve watched some free eps on Peacock. And if you have AT&T ask about the HBO Max that you are entitled to. My teen doesn’t want to watch Teen Titans. Though he’s probably sat through a ton of the eps while dd watched it in the past. So you never know.
  19. I must have followed an email link back to the wrong thread. My bad!
  20. Or just don’t eat corn because of GMOs or other reasons.
  21. One large group I was in had an annual “not back to school” pool party. The fitness center let us pay a fee to use the pool. It wasn’t exclusively ours but since everyone else had gone back to school I think we were the only ones there. Each family paid so much per person in advance then we gave the lump sum to the facility. Another usually successful event was a Halloween party. Costumes encouraged. The secular group had a Halloween party. The Christian co-op had a “fall party.” Various holidays had successful events (Valentine’s Day with a card exchange). Christmas party with food, games and an activity (decorate cookies or ornaments). Homeschool discounted group events — ballet & theatre did well.
  22. I think people were worried you were suggesting the OP add cream without necessarily asking her group about allergies.
  23. Loved the Middle but can’t remember what network — Hulu? Also used to watch American Housewife which might be ok for the 11 yr old. I think it depends on the episode maybe.
