  1. Although in some cases, a few minutes of medication might help, too! 😜
  2. Regarding whether a child is "ahead" or "behind".... all I have to say is hmph! You teach a child where they are at. Plus, people can say anything on these forums.
  3. I haven't had any vivid dreams in the past few nights, but last week they were awful. Not necessarily awful content-wise, but very vivid and they disturbed me for days after.
  4. I make banana chocolate chip bread a lot. It's the recipe in the Betty Crocker Cookbook. Very good. And I always throw some chocolate chips into the pancakes.
  5. Ok, I'm back. Protein shake and cheese stick for breakfast. Bleh! But low-carb. Need to get rid of those last 15 lbs.
  6. Let me know when you find out. I have one like that. He's actually been in b&m Catholic school the past 2 years because I just cannot educate him, but he may end up coming home and doing some sort of on-line charter for high school because his school only goes to 8th grade (he's not doing all that great there, either) and the local public high school is horrible.
  7. Good Morning!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
  8. The cake is done. I wish I could figure out how to post a picture.
  9. One of the streets in our town has some 100+ year old 2-story homes with wrap-around porches. One morning I was driving somewhere in a rush and I noticed someone sitting in a wicker rocker on their wrap-around porch with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. I was more than a tad bit envious.
  10. I think my frog Richard has a friend. I hear two frogs visiting with each other under my bedroom window. Perhaps her name is Violet.
  11. Peonies. I want to grow peonies. They don't grow well here. I grow zinnias. They are my favorite cut flower. I have hydrangeas and Lenten roses in my poor, sadly neglected fern garden.
  12. I never used to struggle with my weight until I hit perimenopause. I October I determined to lose 30 lbs. I have lost half that much so far with carb cycling. My biggest struggle is getting back on the wagon. One of the biggest things I hate about my personality is that I'm an "if it's not an A it's an F" mentality. If it's not exactly right, then I'm a failure. And that makes it really hard to make diets into lifestyles because you can't be perfect on a diet all the time. And so then I fall off the wagon once and then give up. But, I did make it through Christmas pretty well. And I got back to eating the way I needed to. I think I'm doing better this time because I do feel better without all the carbs and sugar, so when I go off the plan, I kind of look forward to getting back on because i feel better.
  13. I don't. Said me never!! thank you! I am actually having an English muffin with peanut butter and this chocolate raspberry jam that dh's niece picked up in France when she was studying there last semester. I'd been saving it for a special occasion. And, of course coffee and I happened to have a little peppermint mocha creamer left over from Christmas. A thoroughly delightful breakfast. I hope I can figure out how to post a picture. It's not quite done yet. She still has to make the peanut butter filling and frost it. oh dear, Jeannie! Hugs!
  14. Good Morning! COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
  15. Yes! You should do that! All of you! Should do all the things you want to do. And none of the things you don't want to! That is my opinion!
  16. Well, come on over! I think it's going to be yummy! It has sour cream in it! And peanut butter filling.
  17. No, it's tomorrow. But tomorrow is a very busy day, so they're making the cake today. It's hilarious. She comes over with the box of baking soda and a cup measurement. "No, honey. It's 1 1/2 tsp, not 1 1/2 cups of baking soda!"
  18. Dd is making my birthday cake. It's "Janet's Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Filling". The recipe is in the back of our devotional book. I'll let y'all know if it's worthy of the ITT cookbook.
  19. Oh wow! Chills and goosebumps! My favorite hymn and I love Alison Krauss. And there's a verse in there I hadn't heard before!
  20. it goes without saying that you will keep us update, my dear! Hugs and prayers from me! hugs to your, too, Junie! I love grilled ham and cheese. I made it twice last week. DH bought his first car when he was 16. Save up his $ from paper routes and other odd jobs and bought a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix from the original owner. He drove it a long time, too. It's now in our garage under a car cover. The cats sleep on it. 😩 And Prairie, you better not suddenly and unexplainedly disappear. Unless of course you are really a CIA operative on a dangerous and exciting mission full of glamour and intrigue. Like Sydney Bristow. Sigh. I really want to be her. And that is a dangerous and exciting Booya/h full of glamour and intrigue, disguises, handsome men and kickboxing.
  21. Ok, so.... I found one good thing about peri-menopause! One. You don't have to shave your legs. The hair stops growing. I haven't had to shave my legs in months.
  22. Good Morning! COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
