  1. This is why I don't write!😎 Actually, I sort of journal. I started a Thankfulness Journal a' la Ann VosKamp several years ago, which has evolved into a ..... something or other. It used to be just straight "what I am thankful for" in a numbered list. Then I started writing Scripture verses, prayer requests, occasional thoughts, lousy sketches of the tree in the backyard covered with sweet little birdies. Now I do all that, plus keep track of my Bible reading and I've added a lot more color with pretty pens. I've started a bullet journal, too, which is kind of like a to-do lost, but also a Book of Days because I keep everything on my calendar and then I'd just feel wretched throwing out my calendar at the end of the year because I felt like I was throwing my life away. But I like the Bullet journal idea because I can keep track of my days. So, on my bullet journal, I not only have my to-do list, but I add some thoughts and ideas and what the weather was like, etc. It's a nice little thing.
  2. My kids never had extreme diaper rash. We had a few milk allergies hanging around. And we had to play around with DD's formula. She was allergic to milk based, but soy stopped her up, so we finally settled in lactose free milk based. All my kids were formula babies because adoption and all that. But said DD was the youngest when we got her - 2 days old.ðŸ˜
  3. DS has an orthodontist appt. today. Otherwise, just school. Nothing too terribly exciting.
  4. We don't do a lot of them. I don't like them a whole lot, which is strange because I used to teach science back in the day and was known for my wacky science experiments. But now that I think about it, that was back when I was single and had a lot more free time to search out and prepare for wacky science experiments. Sometimes I really miss those days. Although we did dissect a crawdad a couple weeks ago. That was kinda fun!
  5. Good morning! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
  6. I'm here. I Awana-ed. We caked after Awana. That was one mighty cake my daughter made, I tell you what. It was rich and chocolatey. And really really rich. And really chocolatey. I ketchupped. And now.... I go to bed.
  7. I did it right for a bit and they hated it. So, now I do it wrong, and they still hate it, but I don't care.
  8. I read that as you are listening to a soft instrumental version of ZZ Top!
  9. Although in some cases, a few minutes of medication might help, too! 😜
  10. Regarding whether a child is "ahead" or "behind".... all I have to say is hmph! You teach a child where they are at. Plus, people can say anything on these forums.
  11. I haven't had any vivid dreams in the past few nights, but last week they were awful. Not necessarily awful content-wise, but very vivid and they disturbed me for days after.
  12. I make banana chocolate chip bread a lot. It's the recipe in the Betty Crocker Cookbook. Very good. And I always throw some chocolate chips into the pancakes.
  13. Ok, I'm back. Protein shake and cheese stick for breakfast. Bleh! But low-carb. Need to get rid of those last 15 lbs.
  14. Let me know when you find out. I have one like that. He's actually been in b&m Catholic school the past 2 years because I just cannot educate him, but he may end up coming home and doing some sort of on-line charter for high school because his school only goes to 8th grade (he's not doing all that great there, either) and the local public high school is horrible.
  15. Good Morning!! COFFEE!!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
  16. The cake is done. I wish I could figure out how to post a picture.
  17. One of the streets in our town has some 100+ year old 2-story homes with wrap-around porches. One morning I was driving somewhere in a rush and I noticed someone sitting in a wicker rocker on their wrap-around porch with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. I was more than a tad bit envious.
  18. I think my frog Richard has a friend. I hear two frogs visiting with each other under my bedroom window. Perhaps her name is Violet.
  19. Peonies. I want to grow peonies. They don't grow well here. I grow zinnias. They are my favorite cut flower. I have hydrangeas and Lenten roses in my poor, sadly neglected fern garden.
  20. I never used to struggle with my weight until I hit perimenopause. I October I determined to lose 30 lbs. I have lost half that much so far with carb cycling. My biggest struggle is getting back on the wagon. One of the biggest things I hate about my personality is that I'm an "if it's not an A it's an F" mentality. If it's not exactly right, then I'm a failure. And that makes it really hard to make diets into lifestyles because you can't be perfect on a diet all the time. And so then I fall off the wagon once and then give up. But, I did make it through Christmas pretty well. And I got back to eating the way I needed to. I think I'm doing better this time because I do feel better without all the carbs and sugar, so when I go off the plan, I kind of look forward to getting back on because i feel better.
  21. I don't. Said me never!! thank you! I am actually having an English muffin with peanut butter and this chocolate raspberry jam that dh's niece picked up in France when she was studying there last semester. I'd been saving it for a special occasion. And, of course coffee and I happened to have a little peppermint mocha creamer left over from Christmas. A thoroughly delightful breakfast. I hope I can figure out how to post a picture. It's not quite done yet. She still has to make the peanut butter filling and frost it. oh dear, Jeannie! Hugs!
