Ok, we are up. We have breakfasted. I am so unmotivated to do school. I am sorry for those in the Snow-apocalypse. It's supposed to be 84 degrees here today and I am getting some ideas regarding an herb garden under my bedroom window and perhaps some blueberries in containers. But, if I let up, knowing me, we will be slip-sliding into an oblivion of Spring Break that will last a month. We need to keep plugging away. I gotta work on DD's writing. She wrote small piece for science abut the Great Barrier Reef and all of her "sentences" were phrases, missing either a subject or a predicate. I hate this tedious part of homeschooling. It's not like she doesn't know what to do. She's just a lazy writer. I am ignoring the fact of Pi Day. Maybe. Too much pressure. My back hurts where she took off the mole. I told her to just get it out. She said we could wait and keep an eye on it, but I knew I would just worry to death. So, she took a chunk out and out in a couple of stitches. But now it hurts. And I'm just being a whiner.

I took a walk. It's a lovely evening out. I saw Venus.

It's easier if you try to make it some kind of a chant. The principle parts for first conjugation irregular verbs really do well in a chant. Second conjugation there are a ton, you just have to memorize them. But if you do recitations every day, and go over the vocabulary cards every day it'll sink in. Repetitio mater studiorum est. Repetition is the mother of learning. We do recitations every day. We use Memoria Press curriculum, btw. They tend to chant their recitations.

Well, I did it the "easy" way... no checks directly to cancer. My cousin saw a funny mole on my ankle a a swim party and said to get it checked out. So, my GP took it off, biopsied it and it was melanoma. Fortunately, the margins were clean. I was referred to this doctor, she did surgery on my ankle and I've been seeing her ever since. Dh did self-refer. He just called them up. He sees a PA every year.

My dermatologist is just a regular doctor's office, but Dr. S is very down to earth and business like. She's very sweet, but very confident. She inspires trust, which is good because my life is literally in her hands. I think she does all the cancer people, since everyone I've recommended to to her ends up with someone else in the practice and I have only seen her, even for my annual screenings, which most people just see a PA.

I'm back. There was a henky mole, but it is no more. It is on the way to the lab. I love my dermatologist. And I got to sit in the waiting room a while and drink COFFEE and read my Susan Branch book and chuckle because it is such an entertaining book. I really need to move to Martha's Vineyard and fix up a tiny cottage and have three cats.
