Last night at the basketball game, it was really sweet. DS's team has 7 kids - 2 8th graders, 3 7th graders and 2 6th graders. (The league has 2 levels of play - grades 3-5 and grades 6-8). The 5 oldest boys are very good players and have really gelled well, but the coach is a very good coach and does a wonderful job subbing everyone so the 6th graders, who are not only the youngest on the team, but are also not very athletically inclined, get a lot of playing time, too. So, last night, the last game, the team decided that little T, who is a short, kind of uncoordinated 6th grader needed to get a basket. So the whole team was feeding him the ball all evening. He was even told to stay under our basket when the team was at the other end on defense (we were playing 4 on 5 then, and still wouldn't let the other team shoot) and we'd get the ball back and he was in position to take a shot when they got the ball to him. He shot and shot and shot and finally made a basket. The entire crowd erupted in applause.
