  1. My weapon of choice is the trebuchet. But I've always been partial to flinging things.
  2. I know! Unfortunately I do let my impatience show far too often.
  3. I like George already! Well, I managed to make it through school, being patient and kind, though I did elicit tears from middle daughter because I discovered she'd only been doing half of her math each day. I was wondering how she managed to get through it so quickly and have such an inordinate amount of time to play. She was unhappily sent to her room to finish all the unfinished math. But I did have several handfuls of chocolate chips. Nestle dark chocolate chips are not nearly as good as Kirkland. Just my personal opinion,
  4. I am so tired of being patient and kind and loving. I just want to scream my head off, down a bag of chocolate chips and sit on my bed under my fuzzy blankets and read my SusanBranch book with no interruptions.
  5. DD told me her milk was getting soggy. I told her to go drink it, quick!
  6. It's Friday Eve. That's what the radio guy said. 😠Yay for Susan getting up! Hugs for you my friend! Yay for Lynn's DH being home! Jeannie.....magnesium! Hugs for JJM's daughter. Yay for AMJ's lack of good typing manners. Always chew your for 50 times. Yay for chai tea! Yay for Quackers!
  7. Good Morning!! COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸
  8. Speaking of butts and sewing things up.... I had to sew up my baby's stuffed cat's butt yesterday. It was torn and all the stuffing was coming out.
  9. Jeannie said "butt". Actually, my kids say that all the time. Anytime they don't like something they say it's "butt".
  10. The funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life is watching a flock of chickens run (not terrified run, but just kind of run) from the rear. It is just a riot, it really is. You just have to stop and laugh.
  11. Oh sure! We had a Teaching Textbooks Epic Fail around Christmas, so both my olders started CLE math. We'll just carry over. And I started my one DD with Prima Latina mid-year. Carrying Latin over is common in our house. We go at a slower pace, so we're never done with the curriculum in a year. It's fine.
  12. Language Arts are easier. She's now humming to herself as she underlines the vowels. I like listening to her hum. I am not a hummer. Extra points for quoting myself.
  13. I think Jeannie should run for the ITT Party. Birthday tiaras, bunny slippers and foot massages for all.
  14. Jeannie for President! Can I be your campaign manager? We can get a big bus and travel all over the country and you can give speeches.
  15. "Finish this and stop crying. You can cry when I'm done working with you!" Even numbers are tough. It's even tougher when your mom has a limited amount of time to work with you.
  16. We are making brittle stars today out of string and super-saturated salt solution. I swear these kids won't stop fussing with each other. Now they're fighting over the food coloring. Obligatory educational post of the day!
  17. I hope all of you are peacefully dreaming in your beds! It's 10:16 PST and I am off to bed, too! Sweet dreams, ITT!
  18. Well, I am back from an amazing basketball game. Whoooo-boy. It was neck and neck most of the game, though sometimes the opposing team pulled ahead by as much as 6 or 8 points. Then we'd catch up. We were behind by 1 point in the final 13 seconds of the game and this kid on DS's team, A, sunk the three-pointer he had been missing all night. And we won by 2 points. I screamed so loud my throat is still sore. My DS had 14 points. They played an awesome game. It was a tough team.
  19. I kind of figured you'd do that, my civic-minded friend. I admire you for that. My only foray into the world of civic-dutying was when I went to a meet-n-greet for one of the County Supervisor candidates a couple years ago. I really liked him. I even put his sign on my lawn. He won the position, too, which amazed me because nobody I ever vote for wins. He's done a lot of good for our area, too. this is my preferred method of dealing with chirping smoke alarms. I'm sorry. I have no advice, since I am not dealing with high school, but DS started out the year with Apologia General Science which is marketed to middle schoolers and it was tough. He struggles with academics anyhow, so I put it away and he's doing zoology with the rest of us and enjoying it. Ooooh-ya/h!!! I got a booya/h!!!!! A civic-minded, smoke alarm chirping, science-y booya/h!!! With COFFEE!!☕ï¸â˜•ï¸â˜•ï¸ And French fries.ðŸŸðŸŸ
  20. Nah, we're good. We're in Central California (Fresno area) and most of the flooding is Northern California. I'm not sure if any of you heard news of the Oroville Dam's issues, but we're nowhere close to that, either. The foothills in our general area have had some flooding issues, but we're fine. Thanks for asking.
