  1. I may be missing it, but i can't find the color pictures to download/print for the Level 3 picture study? Can anyone link it for me?
  2. Have you looked at Essentials inWriting? It is grammar and writing so maynot work, but come with a DVD for auditory/visual
  3. Not to get off topic, but I think it would be very easy to do Kolbe as a non-Catholic. Unlike Seton, most of their core products are secular
  4. What you have described is basically what we do (I have an 8 and 9 year old). We use Singapore have used RSO, but plan to switch to Kolbe science plans for middle school. We use AAS for spelling, just becasue it works for us but I think R&S looks good too. We are also using CAP for writing because after WWE and FLL 1-3 I didn't think they needed the MP 3rd grade writing. For 4th I think we will probably switch to CC since both MP and Kolbe use it. We do some of it orally so that it is not so workbooky. We do the Famous Men, literature and Christian studies guides questions orally and the the kids narrate/draw on the topic (a good paragraph for each subject). I am very happy with it. We plan to register for Kolbe starting in middle school and use it through high school. We may sub in some Memoria Press
  5. Is the Language Lesson through Literature Level 3 workbook not an amazon? If it is can someone link it b/c i can't find it.
  6. I am using it with my 8 and 9 year old and really like it. We use the composition book, have the timeline on the wall and use the flashcards as part of our memory work. I am not familar with TOG, but let me know if you have any questions.
  7. Hope you are right about the chances of passing, crazy!
  8. We are currently using MP Christian Studies and reallylike it too!
  9. for my creative children we do a lot of the MP stuff orallly (christian Studies question, Famous Men question, let guide quetions). I then have them journal/draw on what they ahve read for those subjects.
  10. These are our books for the month (along with fun board books for 2 year old)! (Kids ages 9, 7 and 2) For October we mostly did Fall themes books, so this month is mostly Thanksgiving Mousekin's Thanskgiving by Edna Miller The Thanksgiving Story by Alice Dalgliesh Christopher's Harvest time by Elsa Beskow You wouldn't want to sail on the Mayflower by Peter Cook If You Were At The First Thanksgiving by Anne Kamma All About Turkeys by Jim Arnosky A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting This Is the Feast by Diane Z. 11. Wow, thanks everyone. I had no idea there was so much out there. Look forward to looking at all of these!
  12. I had originally planned to use Classical composition as a bridge between WWE and WWS and then found this. CC Fables looked a bit much for my kids this year, haven't decided if we will do it next year or continue with W&R (we are waiting until 6th for WWS)
  13. I am not enrolled, and don't plan on enrolling in Seton so I don't have the lesson plans, just the book. I have a very advanced 7 year old in language arts and a mildly dyslexic 9 year old that struggles with language arts. I want to find something very solid that won't bore the 7 year old and will stick with the 9 year old. It needs to be pretty meaty for the 7 year and with plenty of repetition for the 9 year old. The Seton book is very beautiful but just seems a little too easy, maybe because I don't have the plans. (We are doing the 3rd grade book) Thanks for all the thoughts and advice.
  14. Thanks for all the suggestions (and I couldn't find separate sonlight lit guides)
  15. Ellie, I will have to go and re-look it. I am intrigued you think there is more there than Seton
  16. Thanks, you are confirming my thought. CHC also seemed light compared to Rod and Staff
  17. Sorry for the typos. On my phone
  18. Thanks. I didn't knoe Sonlight had lit guides separate fromtheir lesson plans. I've never heard of Shmoop, I'll checkit out. Any others?
  19. What other companies have literature guides besides Memoria Press, Progency Press and Veritas Press? I am looking for a guide with comprehension questions and other activities. Any reviews of your favorites?
  20. We have been using Seton English (Gr 3 w/o lesson plans) for our grammar and so far it has been mostly review after FLL. I have looked at Rod and Staff off and on and it seems like it may be meatier for Seton? Can anyone compare or offer review of either?
  21. We are going to give Sadlier Vocabulary workshop a try (Gr 3/green). Was wondering how everyone scheduled it and how long you spent on a unit? Thoughts/Reviews?
  22. I have one that loves to write and one that is reluctant. This has been a perfect program for both, I am amazed how much my reluctant writer loves this. You are right terming this as perfect for the reluctant but creative- perfect description of my boy!
  23. Just wanted to pop in and say after two months of this writing program my kids love it! We are taking it slow and only on Lesson 5 but this kids are revising and typing their stories. I am so happy that we decided to give this program a try!
