  1. I see than Yesterdays Classics has released a third ebook package. Several of these I already have from my previous Gateway to the Classics subcription several years ago. I am curious though, how many books does Gateway have available on their site currently. Promises of two books a week, ought to be quite a few. However, towards the end of my previous subscription, the books were not being released quite that quickly. Does anyone have a current subscription give me an idea what they have on their site now?
  2. http://www.scienceforhighschool.com/shop/a4-high-school-biology-in-your-home-total-package/ It has specimens to dissect, but looking at the other stuff, it seems to focus more on cells and bacteria. I would thing (no science backround here) that the cells and bacteria would be of higher importance.
  3. I'm so confused, lol. I was really considering the "Science for High School" biology course. Then I looked at the link for lab materials from the Home Scientist. The lab supplies for the Science for High School looks more like prep work to become a butcher. Using CK12 just seems like such a hassle (I've been unable to really use any of the materials thus far). Has anyone really used the Science for High School program, and offer some input?
  4. I am a lefty, so I had to test myself to see how I cross my T and A. I do it from right to left. Other than that, and of course my slant, I write just like a right handed person. Nothing special for teaching a left handed child, other than avoiding having them sit on the right hand side of a righty.
  5. I am so very sorry for you and Rowan! How awful. I wish there was some way to take away the pain. Again, so sorry!
  6. Thank you very much for the pdf. I have the book on the shelf for my son to read. I have a hard time keeping up trying to read materials for 6 kids so that I can be on the "same page". This should help alot.

  8. I ordered in Mid July, and received my order quickly. I figure it's the nature of the business, and August and September will be the busy months.
  9. That is rather limited, lol. I wish they had more, and I'd be less wishy washy about it. I do have a $10 off offer here, making it $39 instead of the regular $49.
  10. I see that they have lesson plans to go with the issues as well, so they do expect them to useful in a educational setting. I didn't go thru it closely however.
  11. A month or so ago, I received a solicitation to subscribe to Lapham's Quarterly. It looks interesting, but it's a bit pricey. Has anyone ever read this magazine, or have their kids (older) read it? Is is worth it. The magazines website http://www.laphamsquarterly.org/ TIA
  12. I just pick up what I can used from Better world books. I'd take tree/plant guides as well as bird, and a snake/bug/frog/turtle guides. I've gotten about everything but the trees and plants covered. Every time the kids find something new, we look it up. As far as apps, I don't have a smart phone, and live in an area of spotty reception anyways. Sorry I can't offer anything there.
