Local Principal wants to visit......

:iagree::iagree: Yep. That's how I would handle it too. -
What's for dinner tonight?
Needleroozer replied to Stacie's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Not sure- I work from 3 to 7, and the Dude is flying in late, so it either has to be already cooked or easy enough for the kids to do it. Probably either a) leftover ham and bean soup, or b) marinated black pepper garlic chicken breasts, saffron rice, and spinach dal (which I would make before I go to work) with chapatis. Kids can do the rice and chicken. Mmmm. Even though I'll be eating as late as 8 pm, the dal sounds good to me. I guess I better go have a kid pull chicken breasts out of freezer................. We can have the soup for lunch. -
My Husband is the Absent-Minded Professor! LOL
Needleroozer replied to Daisy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Yep. Always send them with a list, even for ONE item, lol. -
Running late, but will put in a quick plug for the Bradley method. Worked so very well for me. I had looooong labors and big (for me) babies, and this helped me manage the pain well enough to get through unmedicated, and without tearing with my biggest baby. Loved the Bradley method. We also used water for our births- didn't have a tub at the time, so the Dude and I were in the shower during transition. Helped tremendously. If you can get a tub, all the better. If we had had one, I would have been in it most of the labors, I am sure.

I think it is stress- I am the one that does this in our home. -
My Husband is the Absent-Minded Professor! LOL
Needleroozer replied to Daisy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I hear ya. I either have to send my dd with him (Not my son- he is even worse in the absent minded professor dept., lol), or send him with a detailed list (with brands/size/shape/color of label descriptions). Anymore, I just go with him. It helps in that I don't have to do the chore all by myself (A shame this is what our dates have become, lol), and I can moderate with what (to an extent) he comes home with! Good thing mine is so handsome, lol, cuz he is a bit of a pain, lol. :D -
Thanks! I ended up peeling both the turnips and parsnips, but think I could skip the peeling on the parsnips next time. The soup smells so good! In addition to the taro, carrots, turnips and parsnips, it also has a bunch each of kale and parsley, a head of garlic, celery, and thyme, sage, oregano salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Oh- and the ham bone and two kinds of white beans. This way, the Dude doesn't have to cook too much while I work the rest of the week and weekend!

I still love prismacolors, but also love the woodless, which are inexpensive enough to get several sets. I use them broken, too. The woodless ones have nice rich colors. I like the caran d-arche and lyra watercolor crayons, but haven't tried the colored pencils for those brands.

Creamy or crunchy peanut butter?
Needleroozer replied to Luanne's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We love the Crisco sticks- they have led to my family baking a lot more often. Making butter free cookies that still taste super is wonderful! -
Creamy or crunchy peanut butter?
Needleroozer replied to Luanne's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I think I am allergic to peanut butter now, sigh. The last time my son had it, my throat started to close up. Haven't bought any since it happened. My son will be so very disappointed- he was eating it like crazy. But that isn't what you asked......... if I could have it, I would have crunchy. Adam's- the good healthy kind without corn syrup. That was my fave.......... -
Funny- it is still thick, but not nearly as thick as it was the last time I grew it out 20+ yrs ago. I am actually glad it isn't as thick now- it actually seems more managable.

It isn't that I don't have the money to get it cut, more that I do not know if it is time yet or not. The more I think about it, the more I think I am not willing to give up any length yet. I think shape can come later, when there is a bit more to shape! Also, one of the reasons I want to wear it long, in addition to wanting to wear braids again, is that my hair is notoriously hard to cut, and I rarely find someone who cuts it well. My Dude says he thinks I am hard to please- I think it is more that it is hard for me to explain what I see in my head........

I have been wondering if it is time to cut mine yet. I started growing it out (from 0- shaved head 0), 2 Augusts ago, and it is just long enough to pull it back. It looks a bit scraggly, but if I cut it, I would have to work at getting it long enough to pull back again. I am thinking I will try to hang out with it a bit longer and maybe review it for cutting again around my birthday in March. It is long enough now, that the nickname Needleroozer is starting to not really fit, lol, but I won't give it up.

Let's make a date...... I am fairly open in the mornings, and all day every other Monday. Give me a ring.............. Funny, I am *not* a hair-cutter-type person, but your hair is easy to do!

To Kill A Mockingbird is our breakfast read. I love the lyrical style, and the humour. Just asked the kids and the Girl said that she loves the taste of the south, she can relate to the kids, who do stoopid things just like modern kids do, it's engaging and well-written. My Boy says he isn't enjoying it much, but might like it better if he read it to himself- that surprised me!
