  1. I am considering to send my little one for violin lessons, but before that I want to figure out if it's manageable as my son does already lots of activities and loves them all. Basically what i'd like to hear is: how many lessons per week we should take and how long they are usually for 4 years old? how often and for how long he should practice at home? Many thanks
  2. hmmm. so many questions and not even one song was mentioned :confused1:
  3. Yes, it will be the same song for audition and for the festival itself. regarding the genre - it could be any, as longer its kids appropriate.
  4. Basically, we are looking a good nice song for my son's audition, which shouldn't exceed 3.5 minutes:)
  5. I believe in extra-curricular activities and I try to do everything so my kids could do sport, art & music edu + other intellectual activities.
  6. My boys kept asking for a kitchen for a long time and this xmas we got them one together with a couple of wooden food sets with velcro, the ones you can cut with a wooden knife. Both of my kids love it, especially the youngest one. Another great hit is Marble run Haba. Wonderful toy! Playing all together and looking forward to extend it soon!:) Also my youngest is crazy about the model cars. We got him another 15 cars and he is over the moon, caring them everywhere in a shoe box:) Plus we got another 50 batteries for his Hexbugs. These were given for xmas last year and they were a huge hit with the youngest. He is building different mazes: out of boxes, lego duplo, etc. Great learning toy as well! Another good toy from last Xmas was Haba Little Amsterdam set and it have been in use since. And of course lots of play-doh, chalks for his easel and new markers, For Easter we are planning to get a BLuTrack and we are are it will be a great hot for many years along too:)
  7. My kids love this serie! For my musical son I m getting this book for stockings- Lives of the Musicians: Good Times, Bad Times (and What the Neighbors Thought)
  8. pls, suggest me children appropriate musicals, plays, etc. DS(5.5yr) has seen The Magic Flute on TV and Oliver Twist and loved it! Also he saw a part of La Traviata last week and liked it as well.
  9. At this time they're mostly having fun, noting special. My son has started his ballet classes at 3, now its his 3rd year, 4 hrs a week and he wouldn't miss a lesson. It's so important to exercise to stay healthy, so there is nothing wrong with sending them at early years. Besides ballet my DS has 3 hrs of tennis and 1 hr of swimming weekly. He loves everything! Another thing, if she does not like it now, I guess she wouldn't like it later on. Ballet is a hard work and painful stretching. :iagree: I know a few kids who dropped ballet at 6-8 years, started another activities and never regret about that:)
  10. what do you think if I get him a good microscope (I really like this one http://www.amazon.com/My-First-Lab-Duo-Scope-Microscope/dp/B000NOU54O) and a first chemistry set. Any suggestion for a interesting kit for a bright 5 yrs old pls?
  11. we have a few balls, but not much space to play football or baseball, and anyway they are not football/baseball lovers.
  12. he has it:( pogo stick is definitely no, we have a little one who's trying to repeat everything after his brother. Scooter - there is already one. Trampoline is actually a great idea and he wants it, but i m not sure if i should get one at home. Do you have one? is it safe? we are talking about a little one with a handle... my youngest son is crazy about cars and we have lots of them, but the oldest never plays with them:( Anyway my hubby is getting for an youngest Carrera track, but i am still looking for something personal for my eldest. he wants a remote control car, but i am scarred that it will be taken by his youngest brother as well:( marble run will be given by another granny for both of them Does anyone know a good but not very expensive karaoke machine or just a good microphone, or maybe a good guitar for very young kids? also he likes the drums, but it s too noisy :glare:
  13. thanks for yr suggestion. He would really love a new bike, but my mum's already giving it to him completely with all accessories
  14. Dear parents of young boys, I need yr help! I have no idea what to give to my oldest son:( all what he wants is a puppy, but we can not take it before summer and he understands. He doesn't play lego or other construction toys much, neither cars. He doesn't like to draw, but writes a lot. Loves listening to music, sings, dances and asks me to help him to invent an elixir of immortality. He loves play with his brother and active toys. And the most important i want to see him shining this Christmas, so would consider any silly toys as longer they will make him happy. Any suggestions pls? Many thx:)
  15. A friend of mine has paid a membership for Starfall, but cannot use it at all. I have ipad, so i am not sure how to help her. Does she need a special browser for flash? We are using Iswifter on ipad for Starfall, etc. Please, help! :) Many thanks:)

  17. Thank you for your suggestions. We went through a few books yesterday with my son together and decided to stick with Evan Moor once again. In fact there are even History Pockets: Ancient Civilizations for Grade 1-3, Giant Science Resource Book and a lots of workbooks for language development and writing. DS is obsessed with writing lately too:) I did not find anything for Logic? is there anything like Lollipop Logic? He really likes it.
