  1. :iagree: I can do *almost* two batches of cookies in mine...the dough rides up into the thing that turns the paddle. I totally wish I'd gotten the bigger one (and I asked the very same question you're asking on here).
  2. I understand what you're saying, but I think instead of nice she came off as condescending in which case "Captain Obvious" was a pretty good retort. I think he was Simon Cowell in that moment...he said what everyone wished they could say!!! :D
  3. Is it a line from a movie somewhere? I've never heard it but was laughing at how rude it was to say that to someone else!!!
  4. Come on...is there any funnier line you've heard? Gotta love that guy!!!
  5. I'm loving these boy stories! I forgot to add one... I was trying to explain to my older son yesterday what his ADD was...but for the life of me I couldn't get his attention. I mean come on, how funny is that???? (Not that that wouldn't happen with a girl, but the whole thing was so funny.)
  6. I always wanted girls but was not too sure about boys. I grew up with just my mom and sister...what fun could boys be? They're loads of fun...where in one morning would you hear that there was almost a fire in the house because one's breath was very hot or that one made an "escape pod" with his Lego (an "escape pod"??? I mean, this is NOT what I grew up with...girls don't tend to think of these things)?
  7. And look at you, Miss Fancypants, with over 8,000 posts...I need to post more!!! :) I've been here since the old boards and I was on THAT for years and only 1,000 posts??? Crazy.
  8. I hear you...ds went through a trying time with one of his hockey teammate for different reasons. I asked dh what to do. We emailed one of the coaches but bottom line ds needs to work it out himself. If he were at school he'd be in the thick of this and learn the skills much faster...we saw it as a way for him to put to use what we've been teaching him (to stand up for himself...he's not a doormat, etc). We even coached him that it might end in a tussle and to be prepared for that (it didn't). I hope you're able to help your ds stand up for himself...it's HARD when doesn't want to see their kid hurt! :grouphug:
  9. Sorry to hear about your niece. :( I feel the same way about babies...my kids are the youngest (13 and down) and now we have two toddlers and two babies. The only thing that I find difficult is that all the adults sit around and talk about the toddlers and babies and my kids are completely ignored.
  10. :iagree: I told dh if he dies that's who I'm gonna marry next.
  11. Minus the sports (dd plays hockey) my dd13 is very similar. She's very content with who she is and I love that about her. ;)
  12. Hey, look at that...I'm now 10 away from 1000, also!
  13. This is our first year in rep hockey and we have to fundraise. It's the most ridiculous concept: I choose to put my kid in a sport that costs a lot, then I ask the community and friends to help pay for it. Really? It's embarrassing! It also becomes just a money exchange...I ask friends to come to my kids' fundraiser, whatever it is, then I'm asked to go to theirs...so they give me $20 then I give them $20. Huh?:confused::confused: Just let me pay my own way!!!
  14. Cadbury Easter Cream Eggs do the same thing to me. Big mistake to buy them, in packages of 3 (multiple packages, too), a month early for Easter. I can't tell you HOW many times I had to buy more at the store to replenish what I ate. THANK GOODNESS today was the egg hunt.
  15. I've only had one facial so I have no idea but I was talking to my massage therapist about it and she's had a ton as she used to work in salons and she said there are definitely people who give really good facials and ones who give crappy ones. I know that doesn't really help, but just my 2 cents. Plus the answer bumps the question. :D
