Ewww. I just don't like the black cookie part. Funny thing is....I like cookies N cream ice cream, which uses oreo like cookies. But that's the only way I like them.

We use Wal Mart. DD4 began wearing glasses when she just turned 3 and we got her pair from there. They ended up being like $40 or $50 and we didn't get the flexible kind....they never broke. I did get a pair of rimless ones there and they ended up breaking. But I've heard that they can break easily anyways. This time we got DD4's glasses from Target because they had a red pair. We paid nearly $200. Then we walked into Wal Mart a few weeks later (we had previously checked there before buying from Target) and they had a red pair for like $50. :glare: We're getting those as her back up pair.

I just paid our dues last week...it was $35 per child.

We had a vegetable garden, but not a flower garden. I made it a raised bed one. Our dogs never messed with it.

We thought about getting new van with a new seating configuration since baby #3 will be here in October. But since ours is only a 2007, we've decided to keep it since it runs just fine. However, my van looks like a pig sty. We're not slobs, I promise LOL....but our van looks like it. My home is spic and span though! :D Today I got out there and picked up all trash, wiped it down, and vacuumed as well as I could. But with being 7 months pregnant, I couldn't really get down and reach the places I needed to. And DH is so busy that he can't really find the time to do it either. And with two kids, somehow there are spills and stains something horrible. I'd love to have a place totally vacuum it, shampoo the carpets....basically make the inside look new again LOL. Is there places that do that? What exactly are they called? Does it cost an arm and a leg?

Looks like I'll have to check out Goodwill and the Salvation Army tomorrow! I'd rather purchase quite a few and have them on hand since they will be going through 3 kids.

DD7 is starting to read easy books (finally! :hurray:). She loves the Step Into Reading books. Right now we're on the Level 1's. I think she likes these books because she recognizes the characters (Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, Biscuit the dog, Cars, etc). But they are like $4 each at WalMart and Target.....for a little book. Are there other types of readers for cheaper? We have printed some of the I Am Sam books but she really doesn't care for those. And we do read Dr Seuss as well, and she seems to like those pretty well. Bob books seem sort of boring to her. I'm checking eBay for lots of the Step Into Reading books so that's a possibility too.

Definitely. My girls have had iPod Touches since they were 2 and 5 and have taken excellent care of them. An iPad is basically a giant iPod Touch. I'd purchase her a really nice, solid, protective case as a gift from you though. I wouldn't tote one around myself without one.

That looks great!!! I'm not sure that I could actually eat it with that many different tastes involved, but it looks really awesome!

I'd make him finish out the season, especially if you put money into it. Afterwards, if he doesn't want to play again, I would let him quit.

Whenever MIL comes to stay, I try to make her up a little basket. She doesn't have a lot of money and always appreciates when I make her these baskets. I usually stop at the Dollar Store and grab some candies, body spray, maybe a pair of warm socks, a trinket or two, etc.

I'm not much for balconies.....I'd love a huge picture window though!

Honestly, I'd just run to the store and buy a 2 pack of the kind of test where you can get results the earliest....I think I usually get the First Response brand. It would drive me crazy wondering. And if you still get a negative and you are still feeling the symptoms next week, I'd probably call the doc.

Even taking the swinging part out of the equation, I still wouldn't go. It's too unsafe these days to be going and staying with people that you barely know.

I had a feeling everyone would say for them, especially the 4 year old, to remain harnessed. That's that way I feel myself too. I've always said I'd harness my kids as long as possible, which is why we purchased the Regents....because they are huge seats and have a large height/weight limit. They are going to be *so* disappointed about taking the Turbo Boosters back. Seriously, my 7 year old fell asleep tonight talking about how much she loved her new seat. I know that she would probably be okay in it, but I'd feel better with the harness. As for installing another tether, technically vehicles created after 2001 are not supposed to be retrofitted with tethers. If they are, the tethers will be aftermarket ones, not standard, and therefore not guaranteed to work. I also do not feel comfortable installing it without a tether. The Regent's user manual says that a tether must be used. The car seat is so cumbersome that it moves a lot at the top when the tether is not attached. I guess that I will put DD7 harnessed in the center of the 3rd row, with DD4 harnessed in the 2nd row. If I can convince DH that we *really* need a Honda Odyssey, then there's tethers in every 2nd and 3rd row seat. :D

Only the center seat has a tether. Most car seats have to be tethered, but booster seats do not.

I'd put him into a high backed booster. We are trying out the Graco Turbo booster for my 7 year old and it's very narrow and it keeps the belt in the right place on her shoulder.

My DD had a huge tummy till right after she turned four. It was not fat....it was just that bloated looking toddler tummy that I thought would never go away. I actually just noticed her tummy the other day (she's 4 years and 5 months) and noticed that it is most definitely going away. Other kids can be so cruel!

Oh....my. I just googled it LOL. It's very....ummm....interesting. And no, my husband wouldn't wear it. And if he *wanted* to wear one, I would beg him not to.

With the new baby arriving in October, we're having to reconfigure the seating arrangements in our van. Right now both girls just sit in the 5 point harnesses in the middle seat of the van and the 3rd row is empty. What I would really love is for both girls to be able to sit in the 3rd row, baby in the middle, which would leave an empty seat beside baby so that someone can sit by her if she needs to be comforted. Or I can sit in the parking lot and nurse her (instead of trying to squeeze myself into the 3rd row to nurse). HOWEVER, my preferred seating arrangement would require moving my girls (4 and 7) OUT of their 5 point harnessed Britax seats. I feel they are very safe in those seats. It would require putting them into Graco high backed Turbo boosters. I'm more comfortable putting my 7 year old into a high backed booster than my 4 year old. But then again, I feel she's safer in a 5 point harness. We'd have to do this because the only seat in the 3rd row with a tether is the center seat. So I couldn't put both kids back there. My 4 year old is 35 pounds, which is on the minimal side for the weight range. This particular seat goes from 30 - 100 pounds. We bought the boosters for the girls to try out. It *seems* to sit well on her shoulders and waist. But she's only four. That being said, the girls LOVE their new pink seats that have slide out cup holders. They LOVE sitting in the 3rd row and being able to sit their toys on the seat between them and have their own cup holders on the sides of the van to sit their crayons. They told me today that they wanted me to just drive around so they could ride in the Turbo boosters for longer. :lol: I'm just not sure how I feel about them being out of their 5 point harnesses....especially the 4 year old. So here's my options: 1. Both kids in the 3rd row, in high backed Turbo boosters. Pros: This leaves my preferred option of baby in the 2nd row with an empty seat beside her. The kids are happy in their new seats. Cons: No 5 point harnesses for my older two. 2. My 7 year old in her 5 point harness in the 3rd row center seat. My 4 year old in one of the 2nd row seats in her 5 point harness. And baby in the other 2nd row seat. Cons: My older girls are separated and cannot talk and play while they ride. There's no empty seat beside the baby. The girls won't be using their new "cool" seats. No one can sit in the 2 empty seats beside DD in the 3rd row because her car seat is so wide and it will also block the aisle (seriously, it's big...it's a Britax Regent) Pro: I will have peace of mind that everyone is in a safe seat. 3. Get a new vehicle with more tethers. :D I've tried talking DH into that one. DH doesn't understand why this is such an issue for me. I'm such a stickler for car seat safety and I don't ever want to have to play the "what if" game if we ever got into an accident.
