  1. Farrar, will you attend the parade? The hubs won't go, but I'm thinking about it.
  2. Thanks for the congrats. It's insane. Winning every away game hasn't happened in any sport that has such a championship (hockey, basketball, baseball). Insane, right? I just realized that today is Halloween, lol.
  3. What are some good sites to order from? Ds will NEED a shirt at least!
  4. Parade Saturday! I want to go! (Right now. Sitting in traffic would probably change my mind.) Scott Van Pelt was so happy too. He told Rendon that he must have a resting heart rate of 4 and it goes up to 12 when he's excited, lol.
  5. Is it just me or are Ryan Z and Mad Max teary-eyed? I can't believe our ds hasn't called us. He texted. He's w/ his gf. ;) Now, who will be MVP?
  6. I was able to read Zimmerman's mouth on the slow mo replay of reactions. I will use initials to say what he said: OMG and HS <---not "home schooling" lol!
  7. Praying for all that you mentioned and more. ❤️
  8. Links, please?! DH called me out on my Bregman/Bragman comments saying I would think Juan Soto is a punk if he wore pinstripes (or almost any other uniform). He said the same thing about Manny Machado when he was an Oriole. That said, he doesn't like Alex B either. I'd love to see/hear those ads w/ Altuve! I did link the funny Mercedes ads (most radio, one video) w/ Ryan Zimmerman on this thread, didn't I? So funny. ETA: Yes, here it is again.
  9. I'm sure everyone on this thread knows this, but in case someone wanders in here for the last night of the World Series and doesn't know, here is the best explanation of the Nats and "Baby Shark" fever. My favorite part is how the players themselves assigned the signals to the different bases. ⚾
  10. This! My favorite thing about the Nats' success this year is that it seems to me that it all started when a loving father (Parra) chose his 2 yod's favorite song as his walk up song ("Baby Shark") and then the fans got into it and then everyone - the players and the fans - started having fun. And then the Nats started winning! All from a fun teammate who apparently is big on positive thinking and hugs ("The duration" lol!) Like this article too. Thank you for your example and sorry for my dig at Bregman above. I will say, Houston absolutely deserves to be there, and it has been a wonderful match up. All props to the Astros. We have always liked Jose Altuve. I mean, look at that size and he's a force in Major League Baseball! As for Justin Verlander, he is an outstanding pitcher and from all accounts a great guy. He is from VIRGINIA! Nuff said? *Raising my water bottle to the toast "May all the calls be fair!"*
  11. Poor Chip Hale having to hold back Davey Martinez!!! He must be sore today. Davey was fired up! ETA: Don't forget Davey missed a bit this season due to a heart condition! I was worried he would have another episode last night! Yay, Strasburg! Gone are the days that Dusty Baker once expressed concern over. You are THE MAN! Keep it going tonight, Mad Max! Now, I will say that I am sorry Soto repeated Alex Bragman's stunt w/ the bat. (Not a typo. Sorry, I don't like his ways.) I'm glad Davey expressed that in the press conference too.
  12. Nice to see Cabrera last night, especially getting the final out! 👏
  13. I'm still not in this thread, but if I were, I'd be in a hospital bed, faint from nerves! While I hold Arthur Ashe's response to unfair calls as the gold standard (See this article, the paragraph beginning with, "After our Sportsman profile ran, we received a letter from a reader, George L. Miller Jr. of Savannah."), I have to say that the home plate umpires have been VERY INCONSISTENT calling the strike zone and it's been against Washington. GRRR! Even Michael Wilbon said so on PTI, and he's a devoted Cubs fan. /rant
  14. I got a duvet (insert aka comforter that I promptly bought a duvet cover for) for one child from Amazon. It was a daily deal and has held up well for ~3 years. I bought some thin twin sized duvets from IKEA when we bought a few air mattresses for the kids' college friends to use. Also, I'm sure someone linked this here a while back in a discussion of not using a top sheet or couples having different needs for their blankets. Brilliant! The hubs shot it down. Years and years ago we invested in, yes, that term is overused, but it really applies here, some wool bedding. A mattress topper and a duvet. They are going strong decades later.
  15. I dream of owning a LoveSac sectional. I don't dream of spending so much for one. It sounds like you've found your solution, but Love Sac does runs sales (get on their email list), and I have seen Love Sac offered at Costco for a reduced price. Limited color and fabric selections, but you end up getting some pillows or drink holders for ex for free. Just yesterday I told Dh that if we had a Love Sac sectional, we could move it around, make a double bed out of it (2 chairs, and uses Queen sized sheets, I think?) and have a movie marathon.
  16. Glad you found out about the tick to get on those meds asap. As for the gall stones (fear of a heart attack, since that was my fear as I read your post and I'm assuming your fear as it happened to you!), I'm so sorry!
  17. Yeah, ds texted DH and me this news. I'm so bummed. Maybe it will still happen?
  18. *Caling to you from the other room* I wore red and navy to church this morning. AND I wore my baseball flip flops. Yes, I did. Hey, it's nearly 80˚ here today!
  19. *Still not a full participant of this thread!* Well, now the pressure is off, right? I blame DH. I went to bed. He didn't. He KNOWS the formula! I like Juan Soto too, but i have a hard time believing he is just 21...or has not had some "enhancement". We will keep busy and I just learned we have free movie channels, so I will do MY PART by not watching. *Angie glares at Mr. Angie!*
  20. Still not in this thread, just tossing this in from just outside the door, but THIS is why I first loved Ryan Zimmerman. I have loved him ever since. Scroll down there are several, even a video. 😂 Vayan, Los Viejos!
  21. Our secret sauce is to go to bed in disgust only to wake up and learn that the Nats have won! Let's both keep making that secret sauce!
  22. Are we the same person? My ds is close in age to yours too and lives, eats, and breathes DC/MD baseball.
  23. *Still only reading this thread side-eyed and every few days* You are my people. Hey, we only had the O's for years. When I had my 2nd child, I didn't stop loving my 1st child. I have enough love for both the O's AND the Nats. I'm such a nervous wreck. It takes all I have not to stress eat. I'm exhausted too. And I'm not even watching b/c if I watch, they will lose!😂I have enjoyed DVRed viewing the next day, though.
  24. *Still not commenting or admitting This Event is happening...until it's over!*
