  1. OK, I'm "Liking" these posts stating similar issues, but I don't like that it happened to you all! I'm glad you shared your woes, however. It is so frustrating. They keep changing shipping info and then put a made up number I can't track. Odd that they're having so many problems!
  2. Well, Dennis (Denis?) in South Africa was lovely, and I don't just mean his accent. He was very helpful, and issued me a credit that would cover the Kindle version. I asked if it were a digital credit and he said it could be used for digital purchases or physical purchases. Well, that wasn't quite true, because I was charged for the Kindle, but I chose a physical item without actually checking out and see that I have a generous promotional credit, so I am dropping it and will just start reading the dang ebook I had to pay for. The physical copy is supposedly still on its way to me. I'll still let you know when (if?) I receive it!
  3. OK, now I *am* starting to get paranoid! Yes, I mean to say in my original post that I did use a different browser. And three calls getting disconnected? I am not sure I'd believe me either, but I am super nice to customer service. I am not screaming or threatening. I am a good customer. The way I look at it is I helped them find a flaw in their system. Both times I have ordered (the original order and the free replacement) this book has gone to the wrong station. I think I should be rewarded with a free Kindle version while they figure it out and get me this book that still is guaranteed to get here the next day. Thank you for your help, Kassia! I'll let you know if I ever receive this dang book!
  4. Thank you so much for looking at that for me and then linking it! I keep getting the error page. No one on the 3 (disconnected) calls had any knowledge of a problem on the CS page. And I'm polite! If I were a paranoid person, I'd think they'd blocked ME from accessing that page! BTW, so far my favorite "dogs of Amazon" are Bowser, Mae, Butters & Marge. I don't think Kodak looks friendly.
  5. Thanks. This is no big deal, but stop guaranteeing next day delivery and then delaying it! Please know that I'm reasonable. Last month we had 12" of snow (18" in drifts!) and some deliveries were delayed. I was so glad! Please! Keep everything until the snow melts! Our driveway was blocked w/ downed trees for days. One delivery still came out. I watched it and saw it delayed just a little ways away. Sure enough, the poor driver was stuck for 45 minutes! Once I saw that the delivery was back on, I bundled up, grabbed a flashlight (since it was dark) and planned to stand at the end of the driveway (that was cleared of trees by this time, but not of snow!) to meet the delivery person. When I flipped on the light to head out, there she was coming up to the porch! I couldn't believe it! She walked in the dark and freezing cold down the drive to a dark house (no porch lights on.) I thanked her, insisted she take something from our goody box for delivery people (actually I made her take one of each offering!) and then I walked her down to her van, using the flashlight and stopping traffic so she could back out safely. I don't have unreasonable expectations and this is not a problem. It's a frustration!
  6. I can't get the chat feature to work. When I click on "Customer Service" on the home page, I get an error message saying, "Sorry. Something went wrong on our end. Please go back and try again or go to Amazon's home page.", and I get to see one of the "dogs of Amazon." I've had this problem for days, so I finally broke down and called Customer Service. It took 3 calls, the last one lasting close to half an hour, and when I was disconnected (for the 3rd time, for a replacement order for a product that never arrived, that they keep guaranteeing next day delivery, and then they show and then remove the tracking info. GRRR!), I conceded. I will try again tomorrow, but I much prefer the chat feature and I always request an email of the transcript of the chat. While I wouldn't wish this frustration on anyone, I wonder if I'm alone. Can anyone else get the CS page to work? And initiate a chat?
  7. I have so many reasons not to watch, including NBC's coverage. They lost me when they spoiled Missy Franklin's 2012 win. 😠 But I am seeking out Nathan Chen's performances, because he is perfection and this is his Olympics. Years ago, a beloved board member posted about watching on Tunnel Bear. I watched the UK's coverage some and Canada's coverage. Both were MUCH better than the US's coverage!
  8. Nathan Chen. A friend of mine taught him ballet! He is amazing and the best male skater I have ever seen, and if you knew what a Dorothy Hamill fan I was back in the day (still am!), you'd know what a high compliment that is!
  9. I like every idea stated here! I was going to say candles, and at one point we had birch logs w/ cut out holes for candles! I'd put flameless candles in there. If you go w/ plants and don't opt for candles (flameless or otherwise), you could use fairy lights w/ a remote control and timer feature to brighten up the space, weaving them around/through the plants. Something like this. I have a single strand hanging on a curtain rod (Don't judge me!) and it puts off more light than you'd think looking at those thin wires.
  10. Yeah, I have no tolerance when people grill me when I'm selling curriculum. I was a big researcher so when I saw something at a good price, I jumped. But too often when selling locally I posted something for sale and people wrote back asking how to use it or how I liked it, I had no time for games. Good luck. It's a jungle out there.
  11. When I read this all I could think of was my favorite comedian's bit on "iced coffee with cream." Anyone? Anyone? Nate Bargatze is on Netflix, and YT of course.
  12. I've heard of getting IKEA sofa covers (in general,I ,don't know about yours specifically) from different sellers on etsy.
  13. Just getting back to this although it was resurrected last week. I went back to see my OP and in it I mentioned Henry Kissinger. He is still alive! He's 97. Incredible.
  14. I voted in person. With that done, this is my feeling on the results: https://youtu.be/SsYXnH9lzCY
  15. Katy, as always, your posts are so helpful. I need to follow this thread, because, for different reasons, I just started making green smoothies yesterday. I made one based on someone who said it was Reese Witherspoon's recipe: 1 green apple, 1 pear, 1 lemon, 2 hands full of spinach (I freeze fresh bagged spinach), coconut water, collagen, but I added a little water and an avocado plus a tiny bit of coconut oil. I see the rules I've broken but just saw this thread. Where do you buy flax seeds in person? I can only find flax meal, but wanted to try making my own hair gel using flax seeds. (Yes, you may laugh at me.) I started the smoothies b/c I've been having some health issues and the only thing helping is that DH and I walk ~1.5 miles every morning. I decided to add more fruits and veggies, hence the smoothies. The source I found for my recipe above (not Reese) said she drinks half and then puts the other half in the fridge for the next day. That goes against all I was taught about fresh is best, enzymes, etc. from my old juicing days, but I did it. Less clean up and work. I bet that breaks rules too. Thank you, Katy, for all your contributions. That saying that you're the sum of the people you spend time with? Well, you raise my average!
  16. Make sure you've swept and/or vacuumed enough. Then invest in the O'Cedar spin mop. I like having an extra head because: bathroom floors. Next, look up the Go Clean Co. She sells a $14 (Candadian, so less in the US) ebook, but you can get tons of free tips from her IG account. I now mop my tile floors w/ 1 teaspoon powdered Tide and piping hot water using the mop above and my floors are so clean! No streaks. Watch her stories and highlights if you can about what solution to use on wood, laminate flooring, etc. The Go Clean Co lady says to spin the mop it 8-10 times (pumps). Warning: She uses a little bad language.
  17. When we had one it just meant more street side yard to clean up the neighbors' dogs' poop from. 😡
  18. Wait. Is the Redskins flag gone? Sorry this thread is old, but I'm behind on things. That's not true. I just have zero concept of time passage anymore!
  19. Wonder if I could get Google alerts for threads and posts about this monolith???
  20. I love this - and The IT Crowd. I think I'll go re-watch my favorite episodes: Italian for Beginners and Bad Boys.
  21. Today's Google logo (doodle?) is good! Not funny, but good. Thank you, Ignaz Semmelweis! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8OX0FNWANM&feature=youtu.be
  22. I think you should watch Nate Bargatze's The Tennessee Kid on Netflix and pay attention to his name issues when he flies Delta. That will keep you in good humor when you go to battle getting this fixed. God love you, Ellie, and I do too!
