  1. I would start interviewing now. A good Realtor will have people lined up to see it the day you list. Make sure you get a comprehensive marketing plan from each realtor AND exampled of how the implemented it with past clients. Realtors will often not follow through with marketing because of cost, so get their signature on the marketing plan if you go with them. Have a Realtor not only show you comparable sales but ask them to take you to other listings in your approx price range before setting your price. Realtors are hungry right now. Make them work for the listing!!!!!!!
  2. Option 1 Boths kids: CLP science K CLP Social studies K CLP studying Gods word A(k) CLP Celebrating Art FIAR as a book list DS: CLP Math, phonics, spelling, and handwriting (1st) DD: MEP Reception Math The Reading Lesson CLP pre-writing and writing Option 2 Both kids: Moving Beyond The Page 5-7 (lit, social studies, science) CLP Studying Gods Word A CLP Celebrating Art Everthinv the same individually
  3. Understand and appreciate for sure. I want them to NOY hsve a narrowminded approach on anything.
  4. I guess what I mean is that I want the kids to learn about all cultures and religions in an accepting manner. I want them to read and stretch their minds about tough topics. I want then to learn science, understanding we are christian with out condemning the theory of evolution. Does that make sense?
  5. I was reading a blog post this morning and there were a lot of derrogatory comments towards curriculums like Abeka, CLP, R&S and so on.... For lack of Worldview and too much focus on Chritianity only. I really want a mix of both.... Does that put me back at Sonlight again? I always seem to come back to Sonlight.
  6. DS is a very methodical kid. I started him on D'Nealian K for handwriting and the style isn't easy or flowing for him. It is the only subject to bring tears. So... I am thinkng Zaner-Blowser... But I hate to get another 'miss' and deepen his writing hatred. He seems to freehand well in his own style.... Should I take a break and let him do his thing or movd right into ZB???
  7. I looked at it extensively and, while I appreciate the ideas behind it, jt seemed too forced and to much work to fit into our homeschool.
  8. ....You were starting K with a newly turned 5 year old who: Had completed ETC 2 easily and was reading BOB Books level 2 Had completed a K math curriculum with ease Hated read-alouds ( not an auditory learner at all ) Loved workbooks Was spelling cvc and cvcc words well Loved science and math Is very methodical Is a visual and hands on learner What curriculum(s) would you choose? (secular or christian)
  9. I am in the same boat. I cannot decide on a science/social studies/literature core for next year... Or even IF I am going to combine the kids.
  10. DS is a young K who loves activities and workbooks. Personally, I would love Sonlight to mest my goals, but I do not think DS will 1) sit still for lots of books 2) retain well and 3) enjoy it. He doesn't like crafty stuff but he loves science experiments if they are not super lengthy. So my goals for him are to learn, retain, and enjoy. I want it to be fun for him... And fun for him now is sitting doing math worksheets, lol. He lovex the drynesx of the CLP math. Christian based is important to me. Not time consuming is important to me. I am not worried about passing it down too DD. She will not be the workbook type.
  11. I am yet to decide on a core for next year... We use CLP Liberty Math now and I was looking at their science, social studies, and art. DS is super workbook-ish (for now). I don't see CLP mentioned on here much so I was just looking for input.
  12. I have P4/5 back on my short list. I removed FIAR (too much prep for me) and added Moving Beyond The Page 5-7. I am very torn. I have looked at the samples of HOTA but do they correspond to every book in the core? Is there a lot of prep?
  13. Do you think 5 and 3 is too young to a ttend a funeral? I am worried about it, to be honest. It is for their great-grandma. She was cremated and there is a memorial at a chaplr and then interment in the cemetary. I worry about even explaining how grammy got into the urn... I know that is silly. However NOT going will cause a huge family rift and I have no childcare options. WWYD
  14. I am about there now and love love love how things are going. My curriculum is in my dignature. We are adding in Five in a Row soon as well.
  15. I am going to print out a sample or two today, I think.... Thanks for all the input.
  16. What subjects do you supplement? Also, is there enough literature? How would work with a 4.5 year old tag along who is super bright but has some fine motor delays? Oh, your blog looks AWESOME!.
  17. Has any one used this? I am looking at 5-7 for my 5 year old. I would have my own math, la, and logic. I had decided on FIAR for both kids but MPTP seems so engaging and something DS would really like since.
  18. DS has raced through ETC1. I didn't know until after I started that the 1/2 books went WITH the numbered books. Since he had no hiccups with 1, should I toss 1 1/2 and move yo 2 OR since he is z very young K shoukd I do the half book for extra re-enforcement.
  19. I am looking for a website where I can custom make addition worksheets for DS. I want some review before moving to subtraction. TIA
  20. DS did great with Starfall to learn to build the words. Then we moved into Explode the Code and BOB Books and it all "clicked" for him with ETC.
  21. I am in western wyoming and I think everyone is fabulous here. Laguna, CA WZS THE LE AS ST friendly place.
  22. We are using it for ETC 1. It offers vocabulary, suggestions such as flash cards, a few site wordd introductions each lesson, and many other activities. We use ETC as our full phincs program right now and I love having the TM.
  23. This time of year, we get 45-60 minutes, most days. It just too cold and there is 3 feet of snow on the grass. Mid spring to late fall, we are outside 4-5 hours... And one week a month from June-Sept. we spend it outside camping, lol.
