  1. http://rufftoughkennels.com/intermediate-double-door-side-entry-dog-crate.html Getting my new car today. Kia Sorrento. I want my dog to be safe and keep my new car fairly clean for at least a little bit. So I decided I will buy a crate for the hatchback that I will teter in like a car seat. After online search I think I'm going with this one. Any experience with this? From the videos and reviews it seems like this is the right size for car travel. I want him to lie down to prevent slipping. Right now we have a barrier. He slides around. I don't like that and he doesn't either. Mixed breed rescue. German Short Haired Pointer/Beagle mix? 50lbs
  2. Looking for recommendations for Shakespeare collections. My son has a love for Shakespeare and is ready for the next level. He is almost 13. Thanks for your help.
  3. I had no intention of going to myrtle but my son really wants to see it. I think maybe a one day stop over? We enjoy being outside, hiking, touring interesting places. Visiting National parks are one of our favorite vacation choices. We like to take in local culture while we travel.
  4. This year for our big winter trip we would like to spend about 3 days in each place. My husband would like to stay at historic bed and breakfasts along the way. Any suggestions? Tips for the area appreciated. We are traveling with our 12 year old son. Thanks
  5. http://www.enchantedlearning.com/Home.html This site has a lot of good resources for younger students. There are spanish resources not sure if they would give you what you want.
  6. Didn't notice how old this thread was. Sorry My husband and I always do a theme costume. One year we were day and night. I bought a black sweatsuit and hot glued glow in the dark stars on it. I bought a cheap black winter hat and attached a cardboard moon too it. For day I bought a powder blue sweatsuit and hot glued felt clouds. Got a cheap yellow hat and stuck a sun on it. Think I spent under $30 and it was super easy to make.
  7. I too vote Pop for the bus service. Accommodations are all the same at the budget resorts. Have fun!
  8. Do you believe in signs that you have made the right choice or that is the path you should take? Long story short as possible. I posted a couple days ago about a house I was considering buying. It has to do with that. When we built our addition (master bedroom) we came to see it and trapped inside was a hummingbird. We always said that was special because you never see them up close and resting. Last week when we went to look at the home we are considering buying there was a hummingbird trapped in the garage. We immediately recognized the similarity. I keep getting a feeling like that was a sign pointing to the path I should take. Do you think I am overthinking it? That it was just a coincidence?
  9. I unfortunately am not careful about walking by the windows while dressing. The poor bus driver. lol this house is back far enough it won't be an issue. A
  10. My son doesn't ride is bike often. He likes to hike and explore much more. The road is one lane each direction. Speed limit is 40.
  11. Since I've been thinking this over all night, I've made a few decisions. Road noise will not bother me, getting out of driveway will not be an issue since turning around is possible, house is set far enough back that even from the front porch you can not see traffic clearly through tree, yard maintenance is no biggie since we already deal with that here, it is move in ready, all the other houses we have seen need a lot of work. The main issue that arose in my brain was that walking my dog around the block will be nearly impossible to enjoy since there are no sidewalks. My husband assures me it will be fine since we will have a large lot, lots of open space near by and the beach within a 5 min drive. He's probably right. I love this house it felt like home. Thanks for all your thoughts. I wish I was a more confident decision maker.
  12. My son is 12 and the back yard is fenced for the dog. There is plenty of room to romp. Lot is about 21/2 acres. This is the view to and from the street. I am the worst decision maker ever.
  13. There won't be any development directly around it. It is surrounded by homes and conservation land. Huge driveway/Parking area easy to turn around in. We live on a backroad that is used for a cut through to the highway. This morning at 6am we had 12 cars pass us on our 45 min walk. Problem we have with traffic here is the road is not meant to handle that much traffic.
  14. There are 14 apple trees in the front yard so I would think that keeps the noise down. It's a smaller town main road. Much less traffic than where I grew up.
  15. A plus to the main road is being plowed in a storm. Both my husband and I have no choice but to go to work regardless of weather.
  16. I guess road noise and resale are my biggest concerns. I don't remember noise when we were inside and the windows were open and I don't remember it in the back yard. Front yard had obvious noise. I think I need to go for another visit. I got googly eyed by how much I loved it.
  17. We are making a a move from the home we have lived in for 17 years. Closer to my husband's job(same distance for me) and the beach. This area is pricey with houses about $100,000 more than here so our choices are limited. We made our wish list knowing we would have to compromise on some things. Long story short there is a house that is perfect except that it is on the main road. Set back about half an acre and the backyard is fenced. My son did a survey and there were 17 cars in 5 minutes at 3 pm. What do you think? I grew up on the main road don't really have any bad memories of it. It has everything on our list except for waterfront(dreaming) plus some extras. It has a small apple orchard and from the day I met him my husband has said he wanted an apple orchard. Such a hard decision. Wondering what random strangers would do. My family says no big deal. Thanks
  18. We have always said what is meant to be will be. But disappointment and loss still hurt.
  19. I'm feeling very similar to you. I had an ectopic pregnancy in Oct/Nov. My due date would have been this month. I'll be 40 in September. I have one healthy happy child that I am grateful for. I definitely seems like "every one" is expecting. I think I'm just ultra sensitive right now. Doesn't mean I'm not happy for others but I am jealous.

  21. That is how I dress in the summer. I have a hard time finding what I like so I will listen for suggestions. One of my high priority is being able to wear a reg bra without the straps showing. Most ones I'm wearing this summer are from old navy.
  22. We still love picture books here, my son is 11. We usually include some in all our studies. Our favorite resource this year was Learning Literary Elements through Picture Books by scholastic. Great books with great retention. People discount picture books as "babyish" too soon. A well chosen picture book is a great teaching tool. IMO
  23. Thanks WeeBeaks. My library has the series, though not the Korean War :/ but I will check out the rest of the series.
  24. My son likes the DK Eyewitness books but I don't see one for the Korean War. Any recommendations? Historical fiction for this time period recs would also be appreciated. He is 11 and a strong reader who loves history. Thanks
