  1. We do a lot of this. It's always the way I get the best work but sometimes I need to "move on". It can be very tiring. I love his uniqueness, he is brilliant and amazing.
  2. Thank goodness you posted. I was feeling alone. My problem is my child only has passion for his imaginative world. It's an amazing place, he acts out books and invents huge fantasy world. He plays for hours. Problem I have is he never wants to buckle down and learn. Everyday has been a fight lately. I understand your frustration but have no real ideas. I have been trying to relax about it. Last week on a particularly crabby day we ditch everything and went on a nature walk. It's exhausting. FYI he is 11.
  3. Any recommendations for an economical pair?
  4. Sorry you are feeling so lonely. I often feel that way too. Everyone is always busy. Not sure why I do the same stuff LOL. I have started to complement my amazing time management. :) I'm sure it's not you. The world has become to hurried. People need to bring back the simple on life. You and your family will find your niche it takes time. Chin up, enjoy your children. Friendships with them are the best kind.
  5. Most places in our area are requiring a BSN. Applicants with Associates it Technical degrees are not being considered. Coming right from high school go with a 4 year program it will provide a better outcome. I would encourage her to get a CNA license so she can have a well paying job through school. Weekend and Holidays pay well.
  6. We have retention problems with any computer programs. It really depends on you le learner.
  7. Inspiring them is what it's about :) keeping the passion alive.
  8. It is self publishing(not sure that is the correct term for it). The women running the class is a photographer. She will use here photo book supplies to make a hardcopy for them. My son is so excited.
  9. That's great. My son is addicted to writing too. He is writng a novel titled Fawn of the Dawn. It is inspired by the Redwall series. He is doing a creative writing class and they are going to publish their books when they are done. Great incentive. Writing your autobiography will be inspiring to them. Best of luck happy writing.
  10. We did this coop style. Our kids were a bit young for the recommendations but they loved it. We met 1x/week for 3 hours for 5 weeks. No where near enough time for us. We had to cut out things.
  11. Cat Cora's restaurant on the Broadwalk was excellent. By far the best food we ever had in Disney. Great atmosphere too. You can walk from the back enterance of Epcot or from Hollywood Studios.
  12. We liked Famous Scientist. Inventors is on our to do list. If love more ideas too. I will check out Magic of Reality.
  13. We finished FLL 3. & 4 took a year off and will start AG in September. JAG seemed like overkill for my student.
  14. We started with BFSU. It worked perfectly. Drawn by greener grass I left looking for less planning and something better. What I found? Nothing better and a lot of frustration. We will be returning to BFSU. I like the way it guides me to teach science and makes my son see science around him. So while there is planning it is worth or for our school.
  15. This isn't middle school but... http://www.science4us.com/index.php Sorry for the repeat I missed it. I'm going back to check all the links out.
  16. He just doesn't like the way it reads. He is an avid reader and hardly ever complains so I'm trying to respect that. I might get it as a reference for me and get him different library books to go along.
  17. Thanks wish thoses weren't so pricey they look great.
  18. Requested this book from the library. Looks interesting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1465414347
  19. Anyone add science discoveries and scientist to their history timeline? What resources do you use? Thinking of Story of Science but my son really doesn't like Hakim's style. Thanks
  20. Anyone been using this? Reviews would be appreciated. I'm considering this for next year. We will be using AG on a three year schedule.
  21. We did one review problem a day. I made it up. I usually did a division problem he had to check with multiplication. Kept all skills sharp.
