  4. So... to use the graded levels, are you guys just printing the entire thing out, w/ the intention of handing your dc 1 page at a time?? I figured you could use page protectors (and the child could write on them w/ dry erase markers) so you don't have to print copies for each child. Are any of you doing this?? If not, how are you making it work best??
  5. Mine's up-- another piano photo :) link below... Happy Wednesday, all!
  6. Karen/Testimony-- you're so sweet... thank you so much for your kind words!! Happy Wednesday :)

  10. May I ask a quick question, please? For those of you who use the LoF books, why did you choose them over the Key to... series?? I always thought I'd end up w/ the Keys series to reinforce fractions, etc., but w/ all the good press re: LoF, I just might have to look into this option!
  11. I'll play today (link in siggy)... happy Wednesday everyone!
  12. She just turned 1 on the 1st, so we've only been working on milk (organic whole in a sippy cup) for a few weeks. She still nurses a few times/day, and I also offer her water in a cup (which she likes), but when she takes a sip of milk, she just pushes it away. She loves cheese and yogurt, and I feed her both regularly... but is that enough? I'd love any suggestions :) Also... how much dairy is enough? And how much should a 1 yo be consuming on a daily basis (both now while she's nursing and afterwards)... thanks!

  15. Wow... fantastic! I'll give it a shot once I get through the mountain of clothes that I *must* wash today :) A thousand thanks everyone!
  16. Or do I just need to buy a new one? Dh thinks he remembers his mom washing theirs in the machine in days gone by, but I'm not quite so sure... Have any of you ever tried it??
  17. I'm confused on this, too. Do you work through Homer AND Poetry at the same time? Or do you alternate weeks? Or perhaps months? I'd love to hear how others are making both of these work for them :)
  18. Wow!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your replies--- I *really* appreciate your willingness to share :)
  19. I'm starting to plan for next year, and while most of my choices will simply be the next level in what we're currently using, it's still nice to peak at what everyone else is using for inspiration, encouragement, & new ideas :)
  20. Thanks so much for your replies... it's neat to see how you all tweak the text to make it work best for your dc!!
  21. When you use the IP books, do you-- generally-- have your dc work through the ENTIRE book, or do you tend to highlight certain areas and skip over others? Ds is currently working thru 4A IP and some of the exercises are starting to feel like a bit much. So I'm curious... do you ever just hit bits and pieces or do you tend to plug away, cover to cover?
  22. I'll play this week... I posted a shot of my littlest one at the end of a very long day :)
  23. My boys (8 & 10) actually enjoyed these. We listened to the first 4 books on CD in the car, and while I agree w/ Laura (they aren't "fine art"), they are entertaining and they also provide a fairly decent glimpse of life during that era. Certainly read or listen to them in order-- the main characters are introduced in the first book and their relationships develop as you proceed.
  24. Moira... abig, hearty thank you to you! This info helps me very much :)
