  1. We don't have a ton but my dh works for the State of SC so he has a pension plan. I also have a pension plan and a small retirement account. As far as college, we don't have savings for that yet.
  2. I don't think it is food related because the baby started the whole thing :(
  3. Yep I think thats it... The baby already had it hence my little vacation on the bathroom floor and now my 6yo is infected! Grandma is down too :( here's hoping the three year old stays healthy. I think they are taking this sharing thing a little too far!
  4. Thanks everyone. I finally did get off the bathroom floor, amazing what you discover while lying there. I really need to scrub behind the toilet! I hope the worst is over!
  5. I have some kind o serious stomach bug. I spent last night on the bathroom floor. I had to call in sick to work. I need a good thought or two. :(
  6. She doesn't ask. She doesn't take no for an answer. I just have to keep telling her. She doesn't often knock (I often leave the front door unlocked). She grates on my nerves and her grandma thinks its ok for me to be her after school baby sitter apparently. I told her the baby was sick and she didn't need to come in so she says "well I had it two days ago"....well that's probably why the baby is sick!?!? I've never lived in a true neighborhood where kids come and go. I've always lived out in the country with no neighbors so all visits were prearranged by parents who had to drive their kids wherever they were going. ETA... I learned to lock my front door real quick :)
  7. I have a neighbor kid who comes over every day after school. EVERY DAY. I had to start telling her "sorry we can't play today, try again tomorrow". I don't know why people let their kids do stuff like that but you're just going to have to say NO!
  8. I'm in Anderson and its supposed to be on the mid 60's this weekend with sunny skies! :)
  9. I'm not sure about the paperwork...I'm just the snack mom ;)
  10. Benadryl is safe for dogs. You can google the dosage by weight I'm sure.
  11. She is there at church during AWANA's just in the sanctuary. If he were to have a reaction I'm afraid that by the time we got to her (if she carries an epi-pen) it would be too late. I'm going to speak to her Wednesday night to find out more about his allergies and see if we can keep an epi-pen in his bag. FWIW...I'm a nurse and that's part of the reason I'm so concerned, I know a reaction can go bad VERY fast!
  12. There is a kid in my AWANA's group at church who has a "severe peanut allergy", well his mom never checks the snack beforehand and he doesn't come with an epi-pen. I bring the snacks and always check for nuts first but seeing as how I don't have a food allergic kid I'm afraid I will miss something. If someone else brings something with peanuts then they will serve it to all the other kids but give him a peanut free snack. If he's severely allergic, is that safe? Couldn't he react just by being around peanuts? I'm afraid he's gonna have a reaction and we won't be prepared for it!
  13. I agree with the low carb diet. I took metformin to conceive but otherwise control mine with diet.
  14. I'm afraid if horses too! Birds also give me the heebee geebees!!!!!
  15. :iagree: Sometimes I sub buttermilk for the cream!
  16. The one I like uses finely shredded sharp cheese (16oz), 1 very finely chopped onion, 1 cup finely chopped pecans (or more if desired), enough mayo to hold it together. Serve with wheat thins!
  17. I think that it is going to vary widely depending on the type of defect. My son has pulmonary valve stenosis that was repaired at birth. We follow up with his dr every other year. You would never know he has a defect unless I tell you.
  18. I eat ramen sometimes. It is a guilty pleasure. I especially like it when I'm pregnant. On another note...I wish I had more money than I knew what to do with :D
  19. :iagree: I had mine evaluated for adhd and he is now on medication. It is helping some but I'm still working on some behavior modification. I can at least get him to finish a "time out" now.
  20. I have a 6yo son who sounds just like yours. It's exhausting! :grouphug: I also meltdown nearly everyday.
