  1. :grouphug: You are welcome! I remember feeling the same way.
  2. This year as our intro to classical languages we began using "English from the Roots Up." Dd is enjoying learning Greek/Latin root words. As a sidenote you don't have to purchase the IG, just the word cards. I did have the opportunity to preview the Cambridge Latin course, which I love! Cambridge Latin can be previewed at http://cambridgescp.com :)
  3. :iagree: Another idea is to listen a radio dramatization of the book. The BBC has done a dramatization which is excellent! It is distributed here in the USA by Focus on the Family and available for purchase at www.christianbook.com :)
  4. Hello Rowan, I would be glad to assist you. I will pm you today. :)
  5. :001_huh: So because my parents sent me to a school which taught classical education I am a socialist? Has this author read Alison McKee's book "Homeschooling Our Children Unschooling Ourselves?" www.amazon.com In her book Alison tells the story of her family's success with unschooling and how to do it. By the way this gracious lady helped author our state's homeschooling law. I've known many families who have unschooled their children using Alison's plan and they have gone on to community colleges and the state university. On the flip side I've known of a couple of families who "unschooled" their children which ended in the children having no foundational skills for academics. The end result was failure to be admitted to the local community colleges and state university. So because Dh and I are teaching Dd using the classical method/WTM we are turning her into a socialist? Good grief Charlie Brown!
  6. What age did you allow your daughter to begin wearing makeup? :)
  7. :grouphug: I empathize with you. Dh and I went through a simliar situation with his parents a few years back. Dh and I are in agreement not to give them money because: 1. They have failed to manage the money they already have. 2. They are living a lifestyle above their financial means. 3. They are financially support Dh's sibling/family.
  8. There was something similar happening with a family on our block. Thankfully it was the grandparents who found the children. :)
  9. :iagree: FREEDOM! I just removed individuals from FB and our membership from the faith based group. Doing the happy dance! Thank you all! :grouphug:
  10. Thank you to all for your encouragement! Dh, Dd and I have decided to "keep calm and carry on." Personally feeling direction from James 3 to keep my mouth in check. :grouphug:
  11. 1. Use white vinegar instead fabric conditioner during the rinse cycle. 2. Start your own vegetable garden. Home grown tastes so much better! These are the two top tips I remember my parents practicing during the late 1960's early 1970's. :)
  12. Please feel free to post your tips for saving money during tough economic times on this thread. :)
  13. The op is not about the group I faciliate. It is in regard to what the faith based group in the area is presently doing. I have decided not to discuss the details of the attack openly here the on the forum. I am asking for members of the WTM if they are led, to please pray for me in regard to having wisdom in handling this present situation.
  14. Thank you! :) What can I say instead of "pass the bean dip?" Hmmmm:rolleyes: Perhaps "Pass the copy of Plato?" :)
