  2. This week's question is: Do you and your spouse/partner share the responsibilities of home educating your child/children? :)
  3. Susan and her staff at PHP did an outstanding job putting this history curriculum together! It is straightforward and easy to use. I would highly recommend purchasing both the SOTW Volumes 1-4 and SOTW activity books Volumes 1-4. I have written a review of this series at Rainbow Resource Center www.rainbowresource.com if you would like to read it. :)

  5. This is our family recipe so to speak. I literally threw it together at the last moment with ingrediants I had in the pantry/refrigerator. I use 15 oz cans of tomato sauce. You can omit the red wine if you wish and add sundried tomatoes. The recipe can be made meatless as a marinara sauce. I like to purchase meatballs from our local Italian deli and cook them in the crockpot covered in this sauce. :)

  7. This week's recipe is...spaghetti sauce. Bon Appetit! :) Spaghetti Sauce 4 (15oz) cans of tomatos sauce 1 lb of ground beef or Italian sausage cooked/drained 1 carton of fresh mushooms, sliced or three cans of mushroom stems/pieces 1 medium onion, chopped or 2 Tablespoons minced onion 2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning 1 clove of garlic, chopped 1 cup of Kraft Parmesean cheese 2 Tablespoons red wine or 1/4 cup sundried tomatoes (chopped or left whole) Place all ingrediants into the crockpot. Stir with spoon to mix well. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high 5-6 hours. Serve over hot spaghetti.
  8. This week's recipe is...BBQ Pork Sandwiches Bon Appetit! :) 1 boneless pork roast Salt and pepper to taste 1/4 cup water 1 bottle of BBQ sauce of your choice. Place pork roast in the crockpot. Add 1/4 cup water. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high 5-6 hours. Remove pork roast from the crockpot. Slice with knife. Meat should be tender enough it falls apart from slicing. Drain crockpot. Place roast in the crockpot, cover with bbq sauce. Stir. Allow to simmer on for 1-2 hours on high. Serve on hamburger buns.

  10. In our home narration is done WTM/SWB style. We attempted narration CM style only to discover it was overkill. :)

  13. Our family has them and loves them! We used these books as the intro to art and followed up with the television show, "Little Einsteins." :)

  15. This week's crockpot recipe is...oyster stew. Bon Appetit! :) Oyster Stew 1 pint milk 1/2 cup cream 1/4 cup butter 1 pint of oysters with liquor 1 teaspoon salt Dash of pepper Add milk, cream, butter, oysters with liquor and salt/pepper to the crockpot. Cook on warm for 2-3 hours. Stir occassionally. Serve with oyster crackers.
  16. This week's crockpot recipe of the week is...Swiss Steak. Bon Appetit! :) Swiss Steak 1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick 2 Tablespoons flour Salt and pepper to taste 1 medium onion, sliced 1 (10 oz) can of cream of mushroom soup Cut round steak into serving pieces. Season flour with salt and pepper. Dredge meat in seasoned flour. Place onions in the bottom of the crockpot; add meat. Pour cream of mushroom soup over contents of crockpot. Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 3-5 hours.

This weeks crockpot recipe is...Roasted Chicken and Vegetables Bon Appetit! :) 1 whole chicken, about 4 pounds 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 4 potatoes, cut into 2 inch chunks 1 small onion, cut into fourths 1 (16 oz) bag of carrot chips or baby carrots 1 cup celery, cut into 1 inch chunks 1 cup chicken broth 1 teaspoon garlic powder Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. Line bottom of crockpot with vegetables. Pour in chicken broth. Sprinkle garlic powder on top of vegetables. Mix olive oil, salt and pepper together. Rub the chicken with the oil mixture. Place in crockpot. Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours.
  20. When we were camping this past summer the family next to us had one which was similar. They liked the kitchen and were pleased with their purchase. :)
