  1. Hello WTM Members, I facilitate a monthly mother's group for home educators. In our first meeting we will be reviewing our state's homeschooling law and talking about the topic "What is education?" If you could type in your definitions for "What is education?" on this thread that would be great! Thank you!
  2. Dd is going as "Queen Lucy the Valiant" from "The Chronicles of Narina."
  3. Ditto! Dh and I had a simliar situation with his parents in regard to home education. In the end we stood firm while saying "This is the best decision for our child and our family." :grouphug:
  4. Thank you! Our names started out as a joke aimed at my husband, who is a mechanical engineer.
  5. I would like to thank the WTM member who started this discussion thread. I can relate totally to what you are saying. In the geographical area where our family lives the "the imposter" is becoming the "popular" thing to be/do within the homeschooling community. It has gotten to the point within our local homeschool group if you place academics first, then something is wrong with you and you are ridiculed. I know from experience because I have had two imposter mothers riducule me for putting academics ahead of social activities. What concerns me is where will the children end up who are not being taught academics at home? So sad when parents have the opportunity to home educate and it is squandered.
  6. Miss Logic just hit the double digits.
  7. Hello WTM Members, My name is Kathy aka Mrs. Logic. I am married to Professor Logic and the mother of Miss Logic. I discovered the WTM Forums via the Homeschool Library Forum. In my spare time I teach literary analysis/apologetics classes on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis for home educated students. I also facilitate a support group for home eduating mothers who would like to explore/discuss the educational methods/philsophies/resources available to the 21st Century home educator. My hobbies are cooking, photography and camping. I am looking forward to becoming acquainted with you on the home education journey!
