I used rice when my daughter spilled Pepsi on my laptop. It has been two years and I still haven't gotten all the rice out from under the keys. The rice didn't help. :tongue_smilie:I turned the laptop upside down to drain/dry. After a couple days it worked fine, except for the rice under the keys. I didn't have the patience to take every key off and clean it out.

How long was your engagement?
Findley2 replied to Night Elf's topic in General Education Discussion Board
About 2 months. We met Memorial Day, got engaged sometime in June, I got pregnant in Juy, and were married the middle of September. -
When do you stop wanting another baby?
Findley2 replied to MedicMom's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I don't know that I will ever be done. I always wanted a large family and assumed I would have one. However my dh was ready to be done after dss18 was born. He loves all of the children but doesn't want more. I would happily keep having babies until menopause makes it impossible. There is a slim possibility that dh will agree to one more, but that would be it. I am so thankful for my children, but it still hurts to know this could be it. I just keep praying dh will wake up one day and say "let's have a few more". :tongue_smilie: -
What will your age be when your youngest is 20?

53 But we will be having at least one more. -
So today my DD3 decided to wash her feet in the toilet :ack2:. Two days ago it was the dogs water dish. I am a little scared to think where she might "wash" her feet next. I expected this sort of thing with boys but not girls. This is the same child who tried to flush a towel down the toilet. She also filled the bathroom sink with clumping kitty litter...and then ran water.:tongue_smilie:

refillable foam soap dispensers
Findley2 replied to ProudGrandma's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We use the Suds pump from Pampered Chef. It is a little pricey but it works great. Plus it comes with and extra pump. I have been using mine for over a year and haven't needed to replace the pump. It gets a lot of use and it still works like it was new. http://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering/prod_details.tpc?prodId=634&words=soap ETA- I just read your post better and saw that you tried Pampered Chef already. I don't know if it makes any difference but I use Dr. Bronners soap in mine. It is not as thick as most hand soap so maybe that makes a difference. -
Women with Attention Deficit Disorder: Embracing Disorganization at Home and in the Workplace by Sari Solden Was a big help when I first realized I might have ADD. It is actually the only book on ADD I have been able to read all the way through.:001_smile: http://www.amazon.com/Women-Attention-Deficit-Disorder-Disorganization/dp/1887424059

I am distraught. RAD related

Unfortunately I have seen this firsthand. Abandonment charges were filed and as an added bonus the parents name was placed on the child abuse registry. -
I am distraught. RAD related

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I am so sorry for what you are going through. I have 4 siblings with RAD and I know how hard it is. I watched my mom go through h*ll. My sibs are all out of the house now but the damage is still there. Even now my mom hurts from what she went through. So many people turned their back on her and trashed her. They didn't get it. They didn't want to believe that an "innocent" child could do these things. They would say things like," If you just loved them more, they wouldn't be like this.". Which is great, except for the fact that no human could ever love enough to fill the void inside of these children. The thing about RAD is that until you live with it everyday you have absolutely no clue just how bad it is. I couldn't even count they number of times I heard someone whine about those poor kids and how horrible and mean my mom was. My "unloving" mother sacrificed everything to try and get them help and protect them from themselves. She lost friends, family, her health, etc... for them. She did it because she loves them. She did what she had to do to protect them from themselves and each other. Now that they are on their own they have as good a relationship with her as they are capable of. My brother says she is the only person who ever really loved him and she is the only person he has a real connection with. My brother did things that were...they were beyond explanation. I am sorry if this is rambling. I have a hard time talking coherently about what we went through. What I am trying to say is that even though it may not seem like it now It won't always be this way. Someday your dd will leave home and everyday won't be a fight just to survive. There will come a day when you won't have to be hyper-vigilant every.second.of.the.day. -
What are your favorite HOLIDAY Movies?
Findley2 replied to Michelle My Bell's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My favorite Christmas movie is The Muppet Christmas Carol. I also love: Miracle On 34th Street (the original), It's A Wonderful Life, Christmas In Conneticut, White Christmas, A Christmas Carol ( with George C. Scott), How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Elf . I am sure there are more but those are the ones I watch every Christmas. -
I voted other. At this point I would be happy just going to the bathroom alone.

The bolded According to this way of thinking, the REAL sin is that of the pastor and church leadership not protecting their congregation. What kind of shepherd allows predators to prey on his flock?

Is there anything like Netflix for E-Books?
Findley2 replied to Findley2's topic in General Education Discussion Board
The local library system has e-books but they are only available for county residents. I live in the next county over. It is kind of ridiculous. I have had library card with them since I was 14. -

When to start school?
Findley2 replied to Mom in Michigan's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Personally, I would go with October-June. Maybe I would feel differently if I lived in the lower part of the state. But where I live I don't consider June to be really nice weather. I always think of nice summer weather as starting in July and going until sometime in Sept. Most of June has been rainy and cold with a few hot days thrown in. -

At the risk of sounding really dumb...
Findley2 replied to Findley2's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Thanks for all the replies. I had looked at the API website before but found it overwhelming. It just had too much going on. The Dr.Sears site is great. I didn't know it but I am already headed in the AP direction. -

What is Attachment Parenting? When I hear "attachment" I immediately think of RAD. Which makes me want to run and hide, but that is a different can of worms. I know it has to do with extended breastfeeding, which I did, but what else does it encompass?
