  1. Did you use WWE as a precursor? If yes, which levels? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. which would you choose? Why? If neither is your answer, please don't respond. Thanks!
  3. Yes, I use mine nearly daily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was thinking of also using either Beast Academy or Challenging Word Problems With MUS. We already own CWP, but BA sure looks fun!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Training and caring for a rescue horse, caring for our old Bullmastiff, raising various breeds of chicks and chickens, raising five goats, one of which is pregnant, 4H curriculum books and activities. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. My 7yo dd has been sporadically using Singapore. She is currently working in 1B. We are planning a switch to MUS. We completed the homeschool readiness assessment and are starting with Beta. Any thoughts to ease the transition? If you have made this switch, any advice? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Dh has an Android, I have an iPhone. I need an app that is easy to use and is compatible with both platforms. I have heard of Cozi, is it any good? A shared calendar and grocery list would be great if we can get both! I am open to any suggestions, but prefer FREE!!
  8. I realize this thread is super old, but I want to see how you liked this. Thanks!
  9. I have looked at several and I am familiar with Song School. Are there any others that would be suitable for K-3 that aren't too workbooky? I don't mind some workbook activities, but I'd prefer not pages and pages. Thanks!
  10. Could it be done on graph paper? I have the download of Brookdale House and just got a good deal on three of the others. I haven't had time to look at them closely to decide which we will do.
  11. I have searched the forums to the best of my ability and all the ones that I see have a fee. I am aware of Xtra Math, but that's about it. I am solely interested in math facts practice. If there are other components that is fine. Thank you!
  12. She has done a self study with GSWL. She finished and reviewed about half of the book. She likes the fact that it helps her understand word roots and it has also helped her with spelling. She wants to learn a modern language, and we both think Latin will help. We do not desire to outsource a language at this time.
  13. I am looking for a sibling study and have looked into "Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends", but I like that this one has two levels and is available in pdf. Any thoughts?
  14. I have an 11yo headed into 6th grade. She has not done any foreign language with the exception of puttering with Getting Started with Latin. I am trying to decide whether to add a full Latin program to her schedule or do some sort of word roots program. Opinions and advice? Thanks!
  15. I went straight to Rainbow Resources because they have the most variety and things that I was looking for. I have a working list of curriculum plans for each child. I decide what I actually need first so I can take them home. Then, I see what I want to review to make decisions. Lastly, I peruse the entire vendor hall to take a look at what's out there. 16. I think this decision should be based on whether or not you want to find your own books to accompany MOH or if you want a full package with BF that you can supplement if you need or want to. I prefer not to have to hunt down resources with the number or children that I have. We have been Sonlight users for over a decade, but I am transitioning to BF this year, using many SL books as supplements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. She has a rather expansive free selection, I did not spend $100! I am fairly certain she offers deals quite often. There are more than I will use will all of my children from now until the end of time! If you can use the free ones and then imagine that times 1000, you'll get the idea. You can subscribe to her and get the deals when she sends them out. It's still a little while away, but she will have a deal on Black Friday or Cyber Monday I am certain, but she does offer them at other times throughout the year.
  18. We went full-time RV last fall and switched from Sonlight to BF. It has been great! The books are a better fit for more grade levels and we supplement with Overdrive, which is an app the library uses for downloadable books. The benefits of the library but we don't have to worry about late fees, lost books, or extra space. One of my favorite things about BF is that you are not trying to read more than one book at a time. We use a membership from Notebooking Pages that my 5yo, 7yo, 11yo, & 13yo all enjoy which helps fill that hands-on portion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Still somewhat of a work in progress, I am tweaking as I go. Sixth grade has traditionally been more of a transition to independence, this one is going to be challenging as she is a head-in-the-clouds, dreamer, creative girl! I have let her have a hand in making some of these choices and we will do a month or so of a test run to see how things pan out. Bible: Copywork, Greenleaf Guide to OT History, Journibles, scripture memory (these are all options, I haven't quite decided) Math: Saxon Writing: Writing with Ease and Writing Strands or The Creative Writer (I need to sit down and look at TCW, I have used WS previously) Grammar: First Language Lessons Science: CGC or Nature Journaling or both? 4H Equine Science Spelling: Phonetic Zoo Foreign Language: Visual Latin Art: Abeka Art books (at her request) & MP Art cards with notebooking Music: Learn to play recorder & Composer Studies with Classical Kids & notebooking, church Praise Team, (dh plays piano and guitar and will be working with her on other musical things, this is not my field of expertise) History: SL Core D+E & BF Early American Logic: Logic to the Rescue series Geography: BF Geography or Draw Around the World: USA or a combo of both Typing: ??? Outside classes: 4H Equine Science & Horseback riding lessons ETC: SCM Handicraft DVDs she found at convention. She wants to dabble in calligraphy & will also work her way through Beautiful Feet's History of the Horse. She is a horse FANATIC! Probably has something to do with the fact that her older sister rides pro rodeo in Texas. We use loop scheduling to get through much of the extras. She will take over planning these and working on them asking for assistance as it is needed. I am a fairly relaxed mama, we've done sixth grade more than once and I anticipate this year to be challenging for her, yet rewarding because she was able to help make decisions and look over curricula at convention with me. I am excited to start back!
  20. I need them by the end of this month. Any idea when they will be out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The only one that I can find is by Apologia. I would like to find other options. I prefer one that is already printed. Let me know what you've found. Thanks!
  22. Chiming in about WWE, you can get the pdfs and there is no shipping, etc. I have been using WWE and adding in Writing Strands for self-directed creative writing. It's been a great combo for several years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Just note these are US Editions being used. If you choose CC or Standards, the Live classes won't work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
