  1. North End of Boston for the absolute best food ... and Bova's Bakery is open 24/7 for THE most amazing sweet treats ... I cannot imagine going to Boston and not going to Bova's. :D
  2. This week has been a better week. I'm more disciplined. The pellets are working. This diet is very mental. Timing and structure are key. One should not start this diet (or probably any diet for that matter) in a very hectic, high-stress time of life, I think ... No, the homeopathic ones don't have any side effects that I have experienced or read about (for months and months). They're homeopathic and perfectly safe. If you're interested, there's lots and lots to read up on. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263148&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266161&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246235&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262862&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257370&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249456&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244916&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237943&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232663&highlight=hcg+diet http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227041&highlight=hcg+diet
  3. :iagree: about everything you say. The pharmas in the U.S. have gone out. of. control ... Whenever we have people from non-U.S./Canadian countries visit, they're shocked, since we also get American TV here.
  4. Yes to both. Love Rainforest Cafe. Not so much the one in Orlando/WDW (too crowded), but loved the one in IL.
  5. Happy, Happy Birthday! Hope it's a wonderful one. Thought you might like that. I thought of you as I just finished re-reading The Royals :D.
  6. Every time we fly to the U.S. - pretty much every single year - terror alerts are on high. You'll be fine. :grouphug: We head to Israel next month. Hopefully that will be fine also. :)
  7. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  8. that sometimes I giggle at the moderators' great originality with reasons for deleting threads. Love it, love it, love it ... ... and I am saying this with all due respect. things like "is it the full moon already?" or "you should know better by now". :D Just brings a smile to my face and a little giggle as I sit here with my tea. Mind you, I never seem to know what the threads were originally about. I'm usually a bit slow to get here. :tongue_smilie: I seem to miss all the action.
  9. Me too. Very, very frustrating. I keep begging dh to find a way to clone me like in the movie Multiplicity ;). Several of me all over the place getting everything done. But then each one seemed to get stupider and stupider. :glare:
  10. I've been struggling this time. Not because of the pellets or the diet per se, although the diet is boring ... but that's because I tend to be quite boring. I could make it more interesting if I really felt motivated. The reason I'm struggling this time around is that life keeps throwing me curveballs and this diet, like all diets, but this one in particular, is very, very mental. I am struggling in a big way. I don't have a huge amount to lose. But I would still like to lose quite a bit. Yesterday was a very good day. I'm grateful for that. I'm using the pellets from here.
  11. The whole weekend was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad one ... when it comes to eating. :001_huh: :glare: Today WILL be a better day. :) This week WILL be a better one. :D
  12. You shouldn't hesitate to post about what you read or to make comments. :grouphug: May be a while before I get to read it, since my pile of books to read is growing. But this one is now on the top of my wish list. :D Read and enjoyed all 3 of these. Personally, I would wait a little while (not too long, but just a small amount of time) before reading The Glass Castle. Just my humble opinion ... Weird Sisters is already on my wish list. Blood Orange - never heard of it, but looks interesting. Added it to my wish list. Loved The Girl with Dragon Tattoo series. Absolutely loved those. :) Stacia, I love the picture on your siggy line. :)
  13. Looks really interesting. Added it to my wish list. :) Lovely cover too, btw.
  14. Still enjoying The Royals - my first trashy, tabloidy book in more than a decade. :D
  15. My own cottage in order to have free time ... impossible. My own chef who would make super-healthy and yummy foods ... someone to learn to clone me. I want: one of me to be with the kids and dh one of me to get things done one of me to take care of beauty, fitness, and sleep one of me to do housework and errands one of me to sleep one of me to hang out here and do other online stuff get the idea?
  16. BTW, I keep meaning to tell you this, but I love your location description. Always brings a big :D to my face. And I had some Ben & Jerry's ... That Breakfast Cheesecake sounds yum. :)
  17. I loved all the books by William Sears. Read pretty much all of his books. Also, this book is very practical and do-able. Not just about difficult children, but applicable to all sorts of situations and all types of children.
  18.   Thanks so much, Peela. I was wondering if it was like Triphala, where one would benefit from taking it long-term. Thank you. :grouphug:
  19. I loved The Help and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie. Which Josephine Tey and Ellis Peters books would you recommend starting out with? This is on my wish list. :) :iagree: :iagree: How could anyone think it was hilarious? :001_huh: That's a bit weird to me. Oh well ... to each her own. Some of my favorites, other than those already mentioned, that may be suitable. The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende and anything else by her, but this is her best. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Allende - not exactly fun and frivolous, but great books The Geography of Bliss – non-fiction, very insightful, humorous Food Rules – one of my favorite health books The Five People You Meet in Heaven - if you're in the mood for a very, sweet and easy read - as are all of his books - Tuesdays with Morrie - and pretty much any other Mitch Albom book – we even got the DVDs of three of his books and really liked them Can't Wait to Get to Heaven by Fannie Flagg and most of her books - very sweet and light - and quite funny - fabulous Funny in Farsi - if you need a nice laugh as well as her other book Laughing without an Accent Books by Maeve Binchy – light, fluffy, but also very accurate about human interactions and relationships Dave Barry’s Only Travel Guide You’ll Ever Need – funny, funny, funny Also, really like the No. 1. Ladies Detective Agency books as others have mentioned already.
  20. :grouphug: Sorry to have misunderstood you. I had a feeling that that's what you meant, but wasn't sure. I think that your approach until he's 7 or so is a very good one. After that, you can always see a doctor. :)
  21. First, I want to thank you both so much for recommending this :grouphug:. Just received it and am feeling quite hopeful about it for dh. I got this brand, since I have their Triphala and am happy with that. I have ordered some other stuff from the places you recommended Peela - Himalaya and Dr. John Douillard. Still waiting on those. Question about Neem: Is it safe and beneficial to take most of the time, or is it better to take it only at specific times - antibacterial, antifungal, etc. purposes? Thanks so much.
