  1. Stacia, take care of yourself and hope you get as much rest as your body needs. Like you, I barely read descriptions of books anymore.I also don't like to read a book if I know too much about it beforehand. I feel the same about movies. I barely watch movie trailers. In fact, these days I cannot stand them. They're too long and by the end of that excessively long trailer, it's almost as if they've given away half the movie! My amazon wish list is always very long.
  2. Thank you :). It is lovely to be back. Wow. I wish I could do a move like that. There are some yoga moves - Crane or whatever they're called - that I can never do. My wrists are just not strong enough. Sorry to hear this :grouphug: . Hope you heal okay. Easy to say, but hard to do I know: try and be patient and just enjoy your time of recuperation. Probably not something you want to hear :confused1: . Get some good books or movies and be easy on yourself, if possible.
  3. Slowly starting back again. Did some floor work moves for lower body and yoga stretches. Hoping to be able to do 1 or 2 Classical Stretch workouts later today. I've missed working out and being consistent.
  4. I never heard of her. Will look into her music later. Thank you. :)
  5. The one picture of me in one, is very dark. I really need to scan it and fix it. This is perfect - since it was most likely taken in the early '70s. Mine was exactly like these. Then a year later, we moved back to Iran (before all the horrible rubbish going on there) and the international school we went to had a day where we all wore international costumes. My sister and I wore these, rather than our Persian costumes, since my mom thought it would be different and cute. Everyone kept asking us, in all seriousness, if we were dressed as witches .
  6. I'm an introvert. I ran for many years, but my knees no longer allow me to do that. I used to attend yoga classes on the beach and loved that, but then the classes got far too crowded for my liking. I now prefer working out at home with DVDs. I wouldn't like to attend any classes, since there's very little anonymity where we live and I prefer to exercise alone.
  7. :( sorry. Pretty much. But if I'm there for a while or around them, it can change slowly. As a child, my accent was very strong and I had a Welsh costume :D. :grouphug: Sorry to hear that. That stinks. At least you can read and are enjoying it. Hope you feel better very soon. Love those two covers, btw :D.
  8. Stretching only - can't wait to start slowly back up again later this week.
  9. Yes, I would love to visit Scotland. Also, love the dialects. Growing up, I had an extremely strong Welsh accent. Whenever we visit, I have a hard time keeping a straight face . I grew up near here - Rhossili Bay in Swansea, Wales - it moved up to No. 9 from last year's No. 10 spot of the World's Best Beaches. Enjoy! We went there once MANY years ago - almost 40 years ago!
  10. How nice! I grew up in Wales. Went to Sussex once and loved it. I have yet to try that! I always remember you saying that your dh got you into Belgian chocolates. I'm crazy about any kind of Belgian chocolate also - Belgian, Swiss, and British - love them all!
  11. Yes. And I am crazy about 99 flake ice creams :D. Did you grow up there? That image has me all nostalgic and hungry! One of my top favorites! So true. :)
  12. Crying in public places while reading has happened to me several times.
  13. I read: I Can Make You Hate - 4 Stars. The title makes it sound far more hateful than the book really is. This is a collection of articles/blogs by Charlie Brooker who writes for The Guardian. He’s smart, funny, possibly offensive to many, and thought-provoking. I would only recommend this to the ultimate Anglophile and those who truly appreciate British sarcasm and humor. Many of the chapters are about British politicians and celebrities. This picture of him always makes my daughter and I giggle - so British and a look of absolute disgust and just plain yuck . I also read Life After Death - 3 Stars - A painful memoir about a young man who spent almost two decades on Death Row in Arkansas for a crime he did not commit. My only complaint is that much of his writing is quite slow at times and he tends to wander off and give far more details than necessary. Nonetheless, this is a book that one does not easily forget. Much of it was so sad and frustrating. I almost gave up on it a few times , since I couldn’t endure any more sadness and misery. My heart pains for all those who are in prison and are wrongly accused throughout the world. False accusations and corruption really and truly get to me. We began watching the documentary today and I already started weeping. I wish that there was a library near me, any library in fact, but for now I'm enjoying admiring this one: Please excuse all the change in fonts. I find it highly annoying. Can anyone please tell me what the standard font is here and how I can possibly make it all be as one and uniform? I don't like mess.
  14. Hope that you're feeling better :grouphug: . Love the etsy sniff book image :D. And the e-card: dd and I use that logic here in the tropics .
  15. Stretching only - this will all be that I can do until Thursday or so.
  16. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
