  1. Nothing for me today and the next few days. I had a skin tag removed and need to keep the area dry - hence no perspiration and no showers - tough in this climate, but yet another wonderful reason to be introverted ;).
  2. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome :).
  3. About to do 5 Miles of Leslie. Tip for improving balance, a concern as we get older: Pilates is a great method of improving balance as it focuses on strengthening you at your core. I tend to often neglect doing Pilates. It seems like many do. On the Video Fitness forums, someone once called it "the red-headed step-child of all workouts". I just need to remind myself to do it more often. It's hard to find the time to do all the workouts we "should" be doing. As Mom-Ninja once said (paraphrasing here - and I think it was Mom-Ninja), they all tell us that we should be doing their workouts/type of workouts 3-5 times a week. It's hard to fit it all in.
  4. About to do 4 Miles of Leslie. :grouphug: This is me to a "t" lately also. I'm 46 and also barely notice my period until recently. It drains me every month, not so much the actual period, but the horrible feeling a few days before. I also hate things and this has most definitely become a thing :glare:. Me neither. I also refuse to do releves or whatever they're called, when one stands on one's calves if you know what I mean. My calves are bulky enough as it is. I don't need to develop them any further. :iagree: Me too. Hate exercising with others. I spend enough time around others as it is. :hurray: - I need to do yoga more regularly. My blood pressure is a bit high. This makes me laugh.
  5. About to do Leslie's 4 Fast Miles.
  6. Rebounding Me too. Would love to meet you someday as well :).
  7. It's nice to be back and I've missed you all. Slowly getting back into the swing of things - did 3 Miles of Leslie this morning.
  8. Stacia, meeting you and your family was one of the highlights of my trip :D. Yes, the time flew by and I wish we could have been together for longer. You and your family are so wonderful also and I do wish that we lived closer :grouphug:. Enjoy the rest of your week in Seattle. When we were flying into Seattle, the full moon was shining down on Mt. Rainier and it looked absolutely gorgeous. I have an absolute love of full moons. Yes, the bookstore in Victoria (one of my favorite cities ever) was Munro's. I could spend hours in there. I love the fact that we got to see and visit so many similar places :). Since my last posting, I've read: The Bean Trees - 4 Stars My Mother was Nuts - 3 Stars The Rosie Project - 4 Stars Don't Turn Around - 2 Stars MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
  9. Thank you for this list. I really do appreciate it.
  10. The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady - 3 Stars - the cover is not very blue, but blue enough . This book started off as very funny and entertaining. There were parts that had me laughing and other parts that were quite disturbing with all the family dynamics/drama. I would give it 4 Stars, but the ending was very sudden, hard to believe, and I just didn’t feel that enthusiastic about it anymore. Logavina Street - 4 Stars - Not as good as Nothing to Envy – which is one of my favorite books ever. The names are also confusing and there aren’t enough photos, which don’t help with remembering who is who - moving and heartbreaking nonetheless. Reading this made me angrier than ever at world politics, politicians, and the UN. The Man Who Left - 5 Stars - Like her other book, The Orchard, this one really and truly touched my heart. I love this author. This should be read before The Orchard. MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad.
  11. This. Every single morning since I've heard the news, Rosie and her family have been on my mind first thing every day. My heart goes out to you, Rosie. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  12. Ellen Barrett: Slim Sculpt I won't be online much starting from tomorrow until the next few weeks. Please, whoever is able to, keep this thread going. Thank you. :grouphug:
  13. Dd and I loved the book and we were greatly disappointed by the movie. I will be offline (traveling) very soon. I don't wish to miss any decision that the group may make during my internet absence. Hope to hear when I get back. I'd love to be able to do something. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Rosie, thinking of you all so much and sending love, hugs, and prayers your way.
  14. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  15. Hope you feel better very soon. Me too. And I don't even like Starbucks at all. My personal favorite is Tim Horton's (more in the Midwest and Canada). But at this point, considering where we live, I'll take anything thank you very much. I'm about to do this barre workout.
  16. Rosie, ever since I heard this yesterday, my heart is broken for you. All of us here (my son - whom you were so kind to to send those books) are thinking of you and praying for all. You were the first thing I thought of when I woke up an I cannot stop thinking of you all. I'm speechless and don't know what else to say. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
