  1. About to do All the Right Moves: Amazing Legs. Horrible migraine last night. I'm much better, but not fully well yet.
  2. Nothing today - slept horribly, but also cannot do anything since I had my hair done and can't tie it back. Hope to get something done in the afternoon. I didn't realize you have a new dog. Is he a puppy? We have three. :grouphug: Take care of yourself. Hope you feel much better very soon.
  3. :iagree: about the Nicole Kidman thing. Also looking forward to the movie (I think). Me neither. I've tried it only once. Not my favorite by any means and I have a huge sweet tooth. They're very pretty, however. :D
  4. About to do Ballet Beautiful.
  5. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Not to hijack, but I could have written your exact same post - even your views on not wishing to be medicated and even the length of time (3 years). I'm so very sorry that you're going through this :grouphug:. Thank you for this helpful tip. Me neither. I might be able to force feelings, but only for so long, and the more time that passes, the less I seem able to do that. Going to look into TIR. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Yes, so true.
  6. Classical Stretch: Floor Work Thank you, Kim. :) Glad that your knee is doing better. I can't say that I loved the workout (Leah Sarago). She moved a bit too fast for me. I guess I need to just get used to her fast-paced instruction style. Some workouts definitely have a learning curve.
  7. I read At Wit's End - 4 Stars - parts of it made me all teary-eyed and most other parts had me laughing. This was the first Erma Bombeck book I've read and I look forward to reading more by her, especially when I need a good laugh. One of my favorite quotes was when she talks about problems with getting one's midriff toned: "If I can't tone up the muscles in time for beach exposure perhaps I can use it for a snack tray." MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad. I love how the above illustration has Portland, Oregon mentioned. Used to live there and it'll always be one of my favorite cities. :D
  8. It's a pain. I'm not looking forward to it either (I'm 46). My body's been changing in the past few years and I really have to fight it. I'm an emotional eater and I love food. It's hard for me to eat less and to avoid certain foods. I do notice a difference when I exercise consistently, but I also realize that I will not get back the body that I had in my 20s and 30s. I visit the Video Fitness forums and others there (and here also) have recommended the following for a thickening waistline. Focusing on isometric work – holding the abs in 10-Minute Solution: Quick Tummy Trimmers Barre Workouts Callanetics Classical Stretch & Essentrics Core Cuts – Rob Glick Start! Walking with Leslie Sansone 3 Mile Walk Original Jane Fonda Workout Ellen Barrett – Grace & Gusto Pilates Yoga Dressing right – if you wear a dress, you need a high-waisted, thick belt, or other accessories to create the illusion of a waist
  9. We love crepes and I recently bought a crepe maker from amazon. I was all excited to receive it, since, as I so often do, I did all th research and read all the reviews. I'm frustrated since it really is not very easy to use at all. Annoying. I need to spend more time figuring it out. We prefer sweet crepes over savory.
  10. New thread. Please post your workouts here. Everyone welcome. :)
  11. About to do Leah Sarago: Ballet Body Core
  12. Ellen Barrett: Skinny Sculpt
  13. Denise Austin: Power Zone - Mind, Body, and Soul
  14. I haven't yet finished reading all the responses. Very interesting thread. My 30s were the best time of my life. My 40s (I'm 46) have been the absolute worst. I hope that I'm the only one who feels this way. I agree on all counts. I'm with you on everything. :iagree: The baby and toddler years were the best. Me too :grouphug: . Hate it here.
  15. I recently ordered this book for our daughter. The book is fine and we ordered the biology and physics one also. The problem is that the answer key does not show how to solve the problems, it only gives the answers. I cannot teach her this material. No one here can. She wants to learn and we would appreciate any suggestions as to a good self-teaching chemistry book or even program. Anything. Thank you so much.
  16. Rebounding and a yoga routine from doyogawithme - I did this one
  17. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  18. About to do Bar Method - Super Sculpting.
  19. Although it wasn't amongst my favorite books and I didn't love it per se, I enjoyed it greatly. I will always remember the beautiful descriptions and wish that I could step into that world. :)
  20. It was okay. Not my favorite Pilates DVD. So far, that's Denise Austin's Hit the Spot Pilates. My frustration with this was that most of it was on the floor and I couldn't properly see what she was doing. An effective workout, nonetheless. It is a giant pain. I don't enjoy it either and am happy to get it done. We don't have any stores here really, so we have to cram all our shopping into the short amount of time that we get while visiting the U.S. Cheetos and Coffee Ice Cream - not together  - obviously!
  21. I just finished Duma Key for the Bingo Reading Challenge - "a book that scares you" - 3 Stars. I kept wondering why it was taking me so long to complete (other than the fact that the past week has been unbearably stressful). I just realized that the book is over 700 pages long. I can't tell how many pages in a book when it's on my Kindle. MY RATING SYSTEM 5 Stars Fantastic, couldn't put it down 4 Stars Really Good 3 Stars Enjoyable 2 Stars Just Okay – nothing to write home about 1 Star Rubbish – waste of my money and time. Few books make it to this level, since I usually give up on them if they’re that bad. Thought to share this quote. :)
