Congratulations :hurray: Babies are a reason to celebrate

No hockey gear but know about baseball stink.
Helmets, catchers gear & mitts - spray with white vinegar and sit in the sun. Try to prop open the mitts with something. White vinegar works well on clothes too.
Shoes I use fabreeze - not the aerosol but liquid in spray bottle.... extra strength

Not to many made up words but lots of movie & TV quotes. Sometime in context, sometime random just for fun.

When it turns cooler have a hearty soup, stew, or casserole in a short thermos. I've also been known to take the entire crockpot to practice wrapped in a towel, and then placed in a laundry basket for stability. Then I'd ladle up whatever it was out of the car trunk. With three teens and a younger, it saved on the budget and kept them full.
Have a friend who did this often.
Got lunch boxes? Pack those. It'll be fun for the kids. Get wide-mouthed thermoses for hot foods like soup or pasta. You can keep hot sandwiches warm in a cooler. I have some rocks wrapped in heavy foil that I preheat in the oven and use to keep coolers warm. This way you can pack hot dogs, grilled cheese, meatball subs, whatever. I'd get some movies for the laptop and maybe a car heater and just car camp when it cools down.

Kiddos don't have a cell yet and the oldest is 16. He has no real desire for a phone. I did get a tracphone for an emergency phone. If they are going somewhere they take the phone. They don't use the phone unless they are out and need to get ahold of us.

Kiddos each have a backpack as their "grab and go" bag. They have them packed full with
a change of clothes
flashlights
pocket knife
hand crank radio
rain ponchomatches
nylon cord
wet wipes
whistle
TP
fleece blanket - I think
small first aid kit - kind from travel toiletry section with some extra stuff added in
pouches of water
energy barsOne of them have 2 backpacks. He has more survival stuff in the other one. They are much more "grab and go" ready than dh and myself. That is one of my goals to get better prepared.

Jean -- glad your kiddos helped you out

Fairly well stocked here but not as well as I would like to be. I was making notes as I read this thread of things I need to pick up, like more water, batteries etc.
Our freezers are full and pantry pretty full. First aid supplies are fairly well stocked as is meds. TP is ok for now.

Know what I need to do, nothing I want to :001_unsure: Also dh is home so everything is up in the air

Hope your dd feels better quickly.
I sure need to play along...I just don't wanna :001_unsure:
I need to finish sorting stuff. I emptied a bunch of boxes of books and junk on the table & floor. Some are school books people gave me, some school books I had stored until we needed them and a bunch of boxes of junk. The junk boxes are boxes were I did the "oh my goodness someone is coming over. Dump everything in this box." :blushing:

Awesome thread. Thank you. I need some ideas.
I fix crock pot BBQ by putting the a pork butt in crock pot and pouring a can soda over it & cook on low 8-10 hours.
Use this BBQ for sandwiches, BBQ nachos and BBQ salad (put BBQ on salad). I freeze the BBQ in meal size portions for nights we need a quick meal.

Not sure but way to often.

So that's my problem, not cooking it long enough. I thought I got bad bags of rice.

Dss lamp looks like a Walmart mainstays 72" combo floor lamp. Tried to link but my tablet won't let me today
-
Like someone else said make sure you get the "daylight" bulbs. Made a huge difference.
Dss have a floor lamp that has the bulb at the top and a bendable lamp on the side. It can be bent up toward the ceiling or down where they are working. Got it at a yard sale but I think I saw some like it a Walmart.
