I get it if you don't know your kid (or yourself) is sick and come to an event. But if you have a fever, puking, diarrhea or really coughing and icky snotty, PLEASE stay home. Drives me nuts to be standing there talking and a mom say "oh we were up all night puking but we didn't want to miss this". :glare:
What is worse is sitting in your own home, minding your own business and friends stop by and after being here about 30 minutes or so they mention "yeah we have all had the stomach virus. M started with it and it just went through us. We started feeling better a little bit ago and wanted to get out :cursing: Stay Home People

I have always thought the shower gift was the wedding gift. Wow the things I learn here.
Being what I always thought I would probably go to the shower with a card and an note saying what I bought you. Maybe a print out picture included in the card.

That sounds yummy

It will be on at our house and I might be in the same room (just to be with dh & kiddos) but I won't be watching. I downloaded a new kindle book. I will be happily reading :)

I need to play along. I kinda, ok not kinda, I did mess up big time in January. To many trips to the grocery for an event (I was so overthinking that event) and then lazy a few times and picking up junk food or supper out.
I organized the pantry yesterday. Going to check the deep freeze today and see what kind of meals I can do with what I have.
-
Instead of a whole meal I just have precooked meat on hand.
Brown ground beef, portion and put in freezer bags. Can go ahead and do some as taco meat, jut makes sure to label it.
Cooked chicken...either shredded or in bigger hunks.
Grill various meats and put in freezer.
Make Italian Beef with aujus. Make extra..eat it that night then slice up the leftovers. Freeze the rest. Either all together or meat in one bag and aujus in another.
Having the meats cooked helps me out a lot.

We are night owls and I have teens. Somewhere between 8-9am.
Dh gets up about 7:30 to go to work (gets up as late as possible  ) during week but weekends he sleeps anywhere from 10-noon.

This isn't about the kids partipating-I understand the half time activities are religious in nature and that their participation is expected for the children. But last weekend my husband was blocked from leaving the gymnasium because he didn't wish to participate in the religious activities for parents; it was a religious pep rally type thing that he didn't want to participate in. He had to physically push the person out of the way who tried to block his access to the lobby and restroom. I'm taking DD today, and I don't plan to leave the room, but I am not participating in this particular activity, no matter how pushy they get, and I wanted to know whether DD will be kicked out or not. 😄. This is our first year playing in a different church for 7th grade; DD has played since kindy without a (major) incident at another church before.

That was WRONG/RUDE --- the blocking your husband part. That makes me mad
-
Nope. There is a sign up if you feel lead to do something at half time. My bunch played for 9 years and I never once did anything other than come cheer on the children. Well sometimes I helped set up or clean up but I went to that church and knew when they needed extra help.

My favorite for sheet pans has been Nordic Ware:
I don't like pans with non stick coatings . The coating comes off when you try to clean them. And after one or two uses the non stick properties don't work so well anymore. The half sheet size in the link fits the silicone mats which are awesome for baking anything that sticks a lot.
I also like the Wilton pans for cakes.
I get a different brand but still made in USA at Sam's. 2 pack for about $11

Supper leftovers
Pan fried diced potatoes with some crumbled browned sausage and scrambled eggs mixed in (basically breakfast burrito in a bowl)

I have $25 on mine right now. Haven't cashed it in yet. Just been letting it build.

Actually it has the opposite effect! I look and say, "Wow! My house is positively empty! AND CLEAN!!!!!"
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
Yeah this happens too

I think the best help for this is to watch a couple of episodes of Hoarders before you start to purge. It can be a great motivator . seriously.
Lol but true

I am quite possibly the world's worst purger.
It takes me forever and I keep second-guessing myself.
This is me too

As little as possible. It is suppose to be a vacation. My lawn chair, a book and my camera and I am happy.
-
Yeah dh takes NyQuil and is out like a light within an hour and if he's sick don't expect him to get out of bed unless he needs to use the bathroom or eat.
This.
My kids (older) started laughing when they saw the commercial. They said yeah right dad don't get out of bed if he is sick.

I'd be surprised and very happy to receive a gift card to somewhere.
If it was somewhere I didn't go I would re-gift it and be happy to have a gift on hand.

Did all my uncluttering over break. Should be good until summer.
Well come on over to my house! I have enough junk to keep us both busy til summer :)
-
Put all Christmas decorations (inside & out) Tuesday. I love my tree but man does my living room look clean and big with it gone.

Simple & as much done at home. When we camp that is vacation. As little work as possible on vacation.
Does this annoy you?

Allergy coughs, sniffing etc. That doesn't bother me. It is the stuff that keeps you in the bathroom that bugs me. Oh and strep
